If your comrade is killed in battle and you fear reanimation is a possibility, do you shoot your friend in the head, remove his/her head with a blade or leave him/her whole because you couldn't dishonor your friends body like that?

In safe circumstances, would you bury your friend?

dont waste time and ammo shooting or chopping of the head. GTFO as fast as possible. also, in an ideal situation, still would bury, especially if bitten. burn them. its safer.
If it’s a known fact that anyone bitten returns from the dead as a zombie or mutates into an infected. Then something obviously has to be done before that happens. If it’s a wounded comrade they should first be given the option to honorably commit suicide (shot thru the head). If they do not take this option the group’s leader should, for the safety of the group and humanity at large put said comrade out of his misery.
All depends how much time I have -- all the time in the world? Burn them with ceremony. Zombies on the horizon or I have some good cover? Remove the head. Zombies battering down the door? Bullet in the head. I would never bury them because I would assume that whatever infected us can move through the water table. Surprised that no one has ever talked about that.
I think mutation would be required for the campion virus to become water borne. It's certainly not impossible, however, microbes in the water would likely break down the virus as well as the cold, dark and lack of oxygen.

Drinking water that had fresh infected blood however, would, I feel, be a bad idea.
A fallen friend is worth at least a bullet to me. If they go down on the side of the door opposite me and are being consumed by zeds I think the only humane, compassionate thing to do is smash out a window and put one in their head. Take out a couple zeds too.
