Hi all found this site while looking for zombie movies online.  Watched quite a few over the years, both good and bad. Just wondered if any one knew/had any films that I might not of heard of that are worth watching.  Also if anyone feels like listing me their top 5 favourites that would also be good. (I will list mine later......still deciding at the mo)

Picking out a good-but-unknown zombie movie is pretty difficult.  The truth is, if you don't know a movie, it's either because it's new and/or lacks a vocal fanbase, or it really stinks.  The same can be said for the movies you know, too; you've probably already heard of most of the good ones and the rest you know because of their horrible reputation (i.e. - House of the Dead).  That said, there are a few that slip through the cracks and no one ever seems to talk about them.   There are a few that appear to have some potential, but I have yet to see them myself.  Namely I am searching for a movie called "I Sell the Dead," a z-comedy about a pair of Victorian grave robbers who become undead hunters.  Also, there is an upcoming animated film that could be good called "Night of the Living Dead; Origins."  It is supposed to be a retelling of Romero's movie, but set in New York.  What really has my attention there is the cast is said to feature Tony Todd reprising the role of Ben!

As for the best that I have seen, here's my top five (in no particular order):

1 - Night of the Living Dead (1989 Remake) - One of the few times I actually prefer a remake to the original (sorry, George!).  I like how this one helps shake off some of the older movie stereotypes present in the original (mainly the weak-willed and almost catatonic Barbara).  I also like how it establishes that sometimes the people you have hidden away with are more dangerous than the walking dead at your door.

2 - Dawn of the Dead (Original) - So this one isn't a surprise; the classic that inspired a half-way descent remake, a videogame, and a really memorable scene in the Manga "Highschool of the Dead," this is one of the conerstones of the modern zombie cannon.

3 - Day of the Dead - Another no-brainer (no pun intended), this is by far my favorite of Romero's films!  The claustrophobic nature of the movie, plus the tangible sense of desperation and isolation really drive home how bleak and hopless things have gotten in the world.

4 - Fido - Here's a comedy that some people may or may not have heard of.  Set in a 60's, "Leave it to Beaver" style community, zombies are fitted with collars that surpress their hunger.  Now they act as domestic servants and pets to the living.  You can imagine what happens when one collar stops working...  Definitely worth a watch if you haven't already seen it.

5 - Shaun of the Dead - Another z-comedy that just about everyone knows, but with its clever combination of humor and horror, how could you not?  I just love the fact that despite how light hearted it is at times it still goes back to its horror roots at the end.

1. The Walking Dead

2. Day Of The Dead

3. Resident Evil: Afterlife (The other ones were good, but this is just put together better than the others)

4. Dawn Of The Dead (Original and remake)

5. Land Of The Dead

Never heard of land of the dead, explain?
Zombie Strippers is pretty funny.

Lucio Fulci's "ZOMBIE or ZOMBI II" both considered the same movie. The creepiest theme music and the undead looked pretty gruesome.

Burial Ground was alright.

Zombie Diaries was good for the realistic spin it had. Do not watch if your not a fan of the "CloverField or Blair Witch " type movies.

Night of the Creeps was pretty awesome, space slugs turning prom dates into flesh munching monsters.

The Romero Classics, tho i think he lost it at Diary and Survival.

I have heard of one really underground indie Zombie flick called "PATHOGEN" (not case sensative) created by a twelve year old, no fourteen? i dunno, any way i saw the bio on how they made it and it looks intresting. (WARNING: sound may be crappy, dunno for sure)

28 days later. any body agree???
