Instructions:

1. Review the Scenario List. We ask that you choose any 3, or more, scenarios to execute. If you like, you can do the same scenario 3 times. The more you contribute the higher the likelihood you’ll get your submissions in the final film.
    
2. Review the Lost Zombies Timeline. You’ll find 7 major events on the Timeline. Read the events on the Timeline carefully. These events establish the story world of Lost Zombies. The Scenarios you choose to execute will take place at some point along the Timeline. 
   
   
3. Your Scenarios must be completed by October 1st 2011. 
   
   
4. Once you’ve completed your scenarios  you can upload them to the Lost Zombies Video or Photo sections. Be sure to reference the Scenario Number. For example “Scenario 4.”
   
   
5. KEEP YOU FOOTAGE! If we decide to use your footage we will contact you and we will want the original footage in it’s highest quality.

Scenario List:

1. A car tries to pass through a military check point. Perhaps you’re in the car or witnessing from afar. Something goes terribly wrong. Shoot a video. 
2. A loved one is bit. You need to kill them. Shoot a video. 
3. A zombie apocalypse requires weapons. Shoot a video of zombie weapons being made. 
4. Before there were zombies or a flu epidemic you had a life. Shoot a video of your life before all of this began. 
5. Camp Saint Teresa was a quarantine camp set up by the US Government in the Nevada desert. People falsely believed that a “cure” might exist at the camp. Ultimately the camp became ground zero for the zombie outbreak. No one knows exactly what happened. Rumors abound that some of the Military Police turned their weapons on the sick. Shoot a video that takes place around or in the camp. 
6. Capture your first zombie sighting on video. 
7. In your own words describe the timeline of events that led to the present day situation. 
8. Kill some zombies. Shoot a video. 
9. Most everyone is dead and the world is overrun with zombies, but there is still beauty in the world. Find it and shoot a video. 
10. Mount a camera on a zombie. Maybe you’re doing this for research, maybe the zombie used to be a cameraman. You decide. 
11. One of your fellow survivors is bit. Shoot a video showing how you deal with this situation.  
12. Record or compose zombie sounds to be used in the film. Zombie moans, bites, and flesh-eating sounds would be especially nice. 
13. Record or create sound effects of gunshots, bludgeoning, stabbing and slicing or any sound you think a zombie weapon might make. 
14. Remember when this was all just a flu pandemic? Shoot a video showing a person with the flu. 
15. Shoot a video describing the difference between fast zombies and slow zombies. 
16. Shoot a video of empty and abandon streets in your neighborhood. 
17. Shoot a video of one or more people being attacked by a zombie or zombies. The person being attacked can be the person holding the camera if you like. 
18. Shoot a video of you running. We don’t necessarily need to see what’s chasing you. Don’t be afraid to run your with your camera in hand. 
19. Shoot a video of your zombie weapons. Demonstrate how the weapons are used. 
20. Shoot a video of zombies using night vision. 
21. Shoot a video or photo of a zombie bite. 
22. Shoot a video or photo of a zombie. 
23. Shoot a video showing creative ways to kill zombies. 
24. Shoot a video showing how, sometimes, the living are worse than the dead. 
25. Shoot a video where you talk about all the things you’ve lost as a result of the zombie apocalypse. 
26. Show us your zombie shelter. 
27. Someone has been bit on the hand. A fellow survivor believes the person can be saved if they quickly amputate the victim’s arm. Shoot a video. 
28. Submit original music you think would fit a zombie film. All genres welcome. This needs to be music you create. 
29. The zombie outbreak has just begun. You decide to leave your home for a more protected location. Shoot a video of you leaving your home forever. 
30. You’re hiding somewhere. Zombies are all around you. Maybe you’re in a closet. Maybe a car.
31. You’re trapped in a house. You’re out of food and water. What will you do? Shoot a video.
32. You’ve been bit but you’ve not yet turned into a zombie. Address the camera and tell your story. How were you bit? What do you plan to do?
33. You’ve just seen news footage of an actual zombie. You’ve never seen anything like this. You hear sirens and chaos in the streets. It’s day 1 of the zombie apocalypse. Shoot a video. 
34. Zombies are everywhere. You don’t expect to make it through the night. Record yourself leaving a voicemail to some one you love, saying goodbye. 

Rules & Guidelines:

1. Anything you submit: video, audio, photos, etc. must be your own. No part of your submission should include content which you did not create.
   
2. All submissions must be completed by October 1st 2011.
   
3. We ask that you choose at least three or more scenarios to complete. If you like you can do the same Scenario more than once.
   
4. If you’re shooting video, please save your raw footage. We may need your raw footage if we decide to use your work in the final film.
   
5. Videos MUST be shot in the first person. This means the characters are aware of the camera’s presence. Examples of first person movies include The Blair Witch Project, Cloverfield and Paranormal Activity. Please make sure you understand what this means.
   
6. If you’re shooting video, please do not add any music to your videos.
   
7. If you would like to shoot your video in a language other than English
   please do. We may ask you for a translation so we can add subtitles.
   
8. You may re-use or re-submit previous work you’ve done.  

FAQ:

Q: If I’m shooting a video scenario how long does it have to be?

A: There is no time limit. We recommend between 30 seconds and 3 minutes for each video scenario. The more footage you provide us the more we will have to work with.

Q: By submitting something does that mean I’m giving you rights to my stuff?

A: No. At this time we are only going to review your submission, if we like it and want to include it in the final film we’ll contact you and get your permission to use your submission. It will be your decision whether you want us to use your submission.

Q: What do I get for submitting?

A: You get to be a part of a great project. Potentially your work may be seen by millions of people. At this point we really don’t know what the future of the finished film is. This is all one big, wild, experiment. 

Q: What format should my videos be in?

A: Any format you like. You can shoot on a mobile phone or a high end HD video camera. We would like your raw footage however, so please be sure that if you edit you footage you also keep the raw footage in its original format. 

Q: What format should my audio be in?

A: The higher quality the better but any format is acceptable. 

Q: What format should my pictures be in?

A: Any file format is fine. The highest resolution you have is ideal.

Q: I’m doing a photo scenario, how many photos do you want?

A: Giving use several options is great. More is always better, but if you only have one picture, that’s fine too. 

Q: I can’t see a way to incorporate my Theme into the scenario(s) I’ve chosen, what should I do?

A: You don’t have to use your Theme. The Theme is designed to inspire you, it’s not required you use it. If you’re doing a scenario where your

 Theme doesn’t apply, don’t worry about trying to incorporate it. 

Q: I already shot one of these scenarios can I resubmit?

A: If you’ve already shot one of these scenarios your submission will be considered. If you like you can rename your submission to the scenario number it corresponds with but it’s not necessary. 

Q: I don’t like any of the Scenarios. I have my own idea I want to do. Can I?

A: Yes, you can. In order for us to use your submission it should not contradict the timeline and should be shoot in 1st person.
