Who doesnt have access to guns?
Who doesnt have dead policeman to steal ammo from?
Who doesnt have a NRI?
Whats your plan?
Personally i know of a gunshop in town i can TRY to plunder, but i live out of town (usefull) so i have to travel in before everyone else plunders it (not usefull)
So failing that, i have to rely on:
Bow and arrow in the garage, i'm a good shot so i should be okay aslong as they arnt to close
Pick-Axe Handle in the spare room. We dont have a lisence to bear arms, so we keep a pick axe handel in the spare room, i'd take that (bear in mind they are ment to have a massive iron spike on, so they are durable)
I live in a (tooting my horn abit) quite well off little village, with alot of tophs who like to shoot gamebirds...i dont know which houses they live in, or where they keep the guns, but, im' pretty sure i could round up a double barrol shotty and 50 or so shells, saw the ends off, and i have a sawn off, blunt instrument, and a bow and arrow....
You americans dont know how easy you have it to arm yourselves....

Aussie here, 95% of Aussies are un-armed. It's a lot of red tape and checks and compulsory range time to have a hand gun, almost as bad for rifles.Also no pump action or semi auto shotguns and no semi auto rifles at all.
If I were you I'd be making friends with those toffs and finding out where they keep their guns just in case you need them, at least if your friends they may offer you sanctuary.
The lads did OK in Shaun of the Dead with make shift weapons.... remember to keep those 12 inch records handy! :) Remember your Knights, they did alright with swords and clubs against live enemies, you should have no trouble with the dead.

if you fancy the risk of going into a city/airport then the police all have G36c and sig pmm :D, trouble would be they would have to have been killed and whatever ate their brains will probably still be about.
To be hoenst guns will be a short term solution, there wont be enough ammo to kill all the undead, the best solution will be the find a good place to survive eg a castle and laugh at the people with guns who get over run because they think they are safe.
I mean the canal system goes all over the UK, you can get a canalboat and have fresh water and fish for as long as you want and travel to new and interesting places!

Ah do they? I always wondered if guards at airports had them but i never checked, sadly i live to far from an airport, so the toffs double barrols will have to do :(
Funny how you mention castles though....there arnt that many standing in any good order, and those which are are the big ones which you cant really fortify properly...
However the canal boat idea sounds good...never thought of a luxery canal ride during Z-day...
Anyone watch Dead Set? They did that didnt they, only problem was the lochmaster was a zed ;) Still, food for thought i must remake my zombieplan i think to make use of the canals...

I'd avoid knives, you reallllyyyy have to be close to use a knife, and if you miss its game over...stupid zombies with their limp head bobbing ways :(

i would go to scotland and climb a moutian for 3 main reasons one zombie are dead so cold blooded so the colder they get the slower they move and 2 less amount of area to defend and 3 if you get a decent moutain with fertilel land you can grow your own food

To be honest we really don't need them. I mean I can't remember the last time anyone I know was burgled or robbed/mugged etc, that only happens in the big cities where illegal firearms are owned by some members of the public...and those are also the only places where big crime happens. I dont think that it takes a huge leap of faith to realise that when you give a undereducated person with no self esteem a gun, it makes them a superman bully with a god syndrome, make them a gang member/drug addict and instead of them just being a nusance they are gun running thugs.
Not to mention that the UK has some of the highest drink related problems in the world, the majority of our population are not smart enough to drink safely never mind give them a firearm in the process, we have enough problems with drink driving.
In terms of home defense, they are simply not needed (Im not anti gun, I actually love firearms, I would love to own some and blast away at a firing range) and in terms of self defense, it's the same. The crime levels are just not there for the vast majority of people. It would be like launching a strategic nuclear strike on a road because there is a traffic jam...serious overkill
In terms of sport, I think they should allow firearms. At the moment you are only allowed to carry a firearm (shotgun/rifle) for hunting [read grouse] and you have to have certain checks
-no criminal record
-insured member of an insured hunting club
-a gun safe which is initially given an evaluation by the police, and which is randomly checked
-pass an interview with a police officer to see if your reason for owning a gun is legitimate
so that is fine for hunters, you jsut have to be a good member of society. but for sports/target shooting, it is deemed not a nessessary reason to have a firearm, which is why the UK went for being a guarenteed gold medal cert at the olympic shooting events pre-war to a nobody...our shooting team has to travel to france to practise, this is something which I think should change, jsut put in the same restrictions for hunting.
but yeah the UK has not got the crime levels to warrent the self/home defense argument and we wont be invaded and never have been so that arguement is void also.
still doesnt change that fact that shooty shooty boom boom is fun and has the same danger level of bow/cross bow shooting (both of which are legal to own as long as you are over 18)

Go buy yourself a good sized crowbar, and then get yourself a good survival plan. All these people running around trying to loot the police, or national guard, or whatever, have no plan. Most of them will probably get killed by another panic stricken survivor before they ever even see a zombie.
For the price of a good rifle you could get enough food and plywood to make your place into a fortress. Then wait and see. I know that's not much fun, but England is a relatively small country. It has a well trained, well equipped fighting force. There is a good chance they would have things under control within a few weeks. Especially since every other dickhead in the country isn't armed.
