Ok, a lot of people have their homes ready with a good stash of supplies and weapons, but the chances of you being there when the infection hits are slim. Chances are you will be at work or school when the SHTF. The roads will be chaos in cities and larger towns, how are you going to get back home? Do you have anything in your car or do you carry anything everyday that will help you get there?

Personally I work from home so it's not a major issue, but my car does have a basic Bug out kit, a machete, and 5 gallons of water in at all times. The back pack I always carry on my m/cycle has the same except for the machete,I'd have to improvise there. There is a limit to what you can carry in the way of weapons and not fall foul of the law (no firearm carry laws where I am).

Let's hear your ideas.......

Luckily I live across the street from my work. My truck is always packed ready to roll will supplies. water, first aid, tools, I open carry in Arizona so I'd have my 1911 in my truck while on the job. There are other things l like flashlights, extra gasoline, and even bolt cutters.
I'd think that the vast majority of people will be panicing and not knowing what to do, driving to malls, airports, just driving for the sake of driving etc. I reckon if you had clear aim in your head, eg get home, then you would probably be able to get there by taking advantage of the fact most people will be running around like headless chickens
True, people will be panicky, and chances are i'll be 40 mins by train away from home... so unless the trains are down, i'll have to make do with what i've got at uni. if i can get out of the city and get home, i'd run or see if i could stop someone in their car going that way, and try to dodge people carrying 'sick' relatives and zeds on the street. i'd probably run faster if they were running after me lol
Caos its fair, makes the strong ones babies and the weak take a decision..
I have my bug out bag in my vehicle. First aid kit, extra ammo, my ar15 food, a map and compass, fire starter knife and some other items. If I can't make it out by car or truck I have friends near work with horses. They'd be coming with me anyway. I'm also buds with the owner of the local motorcycle shop. In a pinch I know I'd have a ride. If it came right down to it I'd walk. I work about 40 miles from my home. I like it like that. I keep my eyes open all the time, while driving, to look for usefull places and things. It is part of being prepared.

When i was still a student, i actually thought of plan such as this when i was bored in class, an escape home for weapons and supplies if needed. As well as who i would take with me amidst the chaos.

As of now i am a student and currently unemployed. Taking care of a family, house, and animals is a job enough >.>

But take for example, my friend Vince works in the BP Gas station in the next township, 5-6miles at the most.
(If i were employed that would more than likely be the max distance from home. considering everything is clustered together in shopping strips) I know, i could make it home. I have walked the distance many different ways. So i know most trails through our wooded areas and little short cuts through suburbia. I'd only be working with a pocket knife, zippo lighter, and wallet. More than likely I'd avoid the main roads and areas. But if it came down to it I'd probably pick up a hefty stick in the woods. Not to bash brains with, but to push them away as i move along.
I also plan to get CC when i turn 21,..but that is a couple years away
Everyone would be surprised at who and what you know when it comes down to outright survival. Jordan's friend at the gas station is an asset. Knowing the lay of the land off the roads and streets is invaluable knowledge. How many suits are going to have that info? How many suits take the time to befriend the guy or gal behind the counter? "Suits" serve a purpose in the real and normal everyday world. In times of emergency and especially apocalypse the suits will be in the food lines. Not to say there are no suits who know how to survive. There are many that do but the majority will be moaning in a Zpoc.
Fuel to the fire that might eventually kill us all.
well if i was at work we have a whole armory of weapons and ammunition close by so i think i would be set and i legally cant carry weapons of any sort in my vehicle do to the fact that its a federal offense to have them on the property at my place of work
Easier to ask for forgiveness then for permission.. If there is anyone left to forgive..
yeah thats true but if i get caught with a weapon on the premises i would end up in jail and i dont particularly feel like spending years in segregation ya no
Does it matter when a Zpoc totally destroys the world as we know it?
