Ok, a lot of people have their homes ready with a good stash of supplies and weapons, but the chances of you being there when the infection hits are slim. Chances are you will be at work or school when the SHTF. The roads will be chaos in cities and larger towns, how are you going to get back home? Do you have anything in your car or do you carry anything everyday that will help you get there?

Personally I work from home so it's not a major issue, but my car does have a basic Bug out kit, a machete, and 5 gallons of water in at all times. The back pack I always carry on my m/cycle has the same except for the machete,I'd have to improvise there. There is a limit to what you can carry in the way of weapons and not fall foul of the law (no firearm carry laws where I am).

Let's hear your ideas.......

With my luck, I'd be in school which is way on the other side of the area that I live in. so I have various routes set for in case the hospital that is at least a mile or so away becomes ground zero. of course, its a matter of getting to a car is the hard part.

other than that, I really can't make exact plans like "I have this, this, and this set for part A of my plan, and have this ready when I get there for the other part. As well have this person, this person and this person with me when I make it there." but I can set routes that would lead to even a temporal safe house, "I know a way out of this mess, but I need your help."

Exact plans never work friends. something well always happen along the way, complications, different people, and change of settings will hamper the effects of exactly precised plans. not to mention that most set gathering points might be right in the middle of a zed hot spot. which will not be good either.

Always be prepared.
"Exact" plans are just another form of preparation, and, in my opinion, it is a damn good one: architects use "exact" plans for proficiency in design, the military uses "exact" plans in order to coordinate the most effective maneuvers; Thoroughness is the foundation of the "exact" plan. The act of planning is not ensuring what will go right, but evaluating and addressing everything that can go wrong. If things go bad, you can alter your plan, but if you don't have one at all, you're just a deer in the headlights. I get what your saying about being readily adaptive to whatever may come your way, but when your life is at stake, winging it is not the brightest option.
And that is why I always have ..... Plan B. Also I have Plan C :)
Make a plan and stick to it as closely as possible. If you get off your mark get back on as soon as possible. Be prepared to swerve cuz plans were made to change. Have a goal. Whether it is to get out of town, get home or some safer place, make a plan and have a goal. Even if it's just to survive the next fight.
You can make prediccion of what may happen, plans are unuseful, they can change ine every instant and if you dont have the hability to think quick youre screwed, also with the end of the world rules, and moral end forever so plans are insignificant use of thinking.
You can run off with no plan. You might last a while.
Or maybe the plan gets me killed, all you need is intelligence, strategy, strenght, and cleverness.......... and know to handle weapons, of course.

Plans are for organized and civilized people, after caos and death there will be no more people.
Only bad plans get you killed. You have a while (hopefully) before anything happens, so make it right the first time.
My school is only a mile and a half from where I live so hell I'll just book it home
