Gun Stores?

Not a chance I'd be going to a gun store. I either have one before any chaos occurs or no gun. It will be packed, as you said.

Better to stay and barricade home, or flee to a location that is indisputably safe.

Well i agree and disagree ya probably hitting up a gun store would end up badly either like you said full of Zed or empty, but its a vital thing to have you need weapons and ammo, even if you have a mele weapon you need something to defend yourself from multiple targets

I have the guns and ammo I eed for a short time. A foray to a gun store would hopefully bring in extras if I was one of the first there. Now a Outdoor Sports store like Cabela's or Bass Pro Shops is a whole other story.

I have what I need for now, maybe after a month or so I'd take a look for stuff like reloading supplies (brass, primers, powder) as most people would over look that stuff

Well the point of this question was to get you thinking carefully about looting supplys.

because this applies to more than just gun stores.

I simply put that there as weaponry seems to be the primary concern for Most memebers.

But replace "Gunstore" with allmost anywhere you can garner Supplys weather they be food, water or bullets and my statement still stands.
Most local grocers will be empty in hours of the news hitting the airwaves (if it does at all) and larger supermarkets will vary in the time taken to empty.
But in essance any obvious place you can gather weapons or food will be overun with either survivors or zombies.
If not it's empty save for those few things deemed useless by other survivors.

My next rant includes The problem with Malls as foretress.

Yeah there are a couple threads dealing with this stuff. The big thing is to be prepared before something happens. Look what happened to the folks in New Orleans and how Katrina bit them in the ass. They relied on someone else to take care of them. If you rely on yourself and prepare for disaster in general then you are more likely to survive. Food, eater, transportation, shelter, communication, guns and ammo. It is all important and too late to start looking when the SHTF already.

Gun stores will always be my top 5 priority places ...
Even if it could takes days to get there, I'll go !
(hopefully, could manage to have myself a semi-truck or station wagon to crashed into it - if it's filled by Z's at that time)
