Your training partners live by rules. The only rule a zombie knows is to eat you. If you go down chances are you're done. Stay up and stay moving.

guns run out of ammo - can't carry large supplies - so its best to have both you dont want to be caught unarmed... but melee is worthless in confined spaces and pistol whipping zombies..... is a little too close for comfort for me a nice 3 ft arch away the reach of my sword so ill carry both

Of course I'd survive. My government has spent far too much money on me for me to die. I think everyone on here would end up surviving because they clearly have the knowledge needed to go on. Whether or not they fight or just run, being here and knowing the game is the first part of survival. Those of us with military experience just know how to do it more conveniently. I'm sure guns and long range weapons would be the first line of defense for the largest portion of people but in the end it will come down to hand to hand fighting if it goes on long enough. Give me a pointy stick and I'll stab until it breaks. Once that happens if it's clear I'm screwed without the chance to run, I'll just start pulling some rotten heads off until they overwhelm me. I won't try to be a hero but if I know I'm not getting away, I'm going to make the next guys job easier. I know guys like Prime and I, Infantryman, are trained to be on the front line, so we're given every piece of training they can give us to be a weapon.
Human nature is to survive. We've done it forever, and when it happens, Z-Poc won't be any different. Just another obstacle for us to beat our way through. I agree with Prime on the mutation and city thing though.
Just my two cents anyway.

a rifle you're accurate with, a shotgun you're comfortable with, a pistol you're effective with.

no, as it involves you getting really close to zombies and possibly surrounded.

why would that bother me? I have always yearned to move away from the city and to the countryside. if given the chance I'm outta here. I'm not coming back.

I don't know and I don't really care. I'd do what I always do, shoot them in the head. super or not, they're still dead.

Depends on the circumstances - i'm hearing a lot of "Guns are grand" again and "melees are dangerous". From my point of view unless you're an excellent shot a gun is useless. A melee weapon is meant exactly for those dangerous situations - if your gonna find yourself toe to toe with a zed you're more likely to live if you have a weapon. Now, way i see it I wouldn't waste my time or amo picking off zeds from a distance and i would prefer to avoid toe to toe at all costs...

I would not survive. I take far too many risks for others.
Best weapons vary depending on your sitation. But in general a rifle or SMG + pistol backup will suit most people. A large knife or machete would be a great backup. Go buy a silencer for your pistol to up your evasion chances.
However make do with what you have. I could care less about cities, so yes I would survive that.
Yes mutations are very real and zombies could mutate as well.

I'd probably die, but not till later. Slip ups are all apart of our human nature. I'd like too believe my cunning and quickness would keep me alive long enough too get a single bite or scratch, rather being caught, cornered and devoured by a mob.Also like to hope my comrades wouldn't gun me down on the spot for being infected. xD

1.) yes
2.) whatever works for you... just remember, it should be light, durable, ammo(if any) should be easily obtianable, AND IT HAS TO KILL THE ZOMBITCH
3.) yes, in most cases. 1-10 on one, where your well trained with it, yes. 15+? unless its an epic killing tool(like my trench knives, or a tool made to peice the skull) I would stick to a gun. A single sword is useless vs a mob of 20 zombies. Also, keep a lighter and some moltovs handy to light the mod on fire, causeing confusin, fear and evenutally a screaming death.
4.) very well, because when the Zpoc comes, the first thing you do is stick to as far away from the city as you can. wait for a couple of years before going back in, but even then still be ready for a mob.
5.) the possiblity is likely, seeing as the zombiesare just hosts of a virus. the virus will elove and adapt, so the zombie may get smarter, faster, and maybe even stronger.

i dunno if i would.
it's hard to say who will and who won't survive because you just never know. Prime and others have exceptional skills for surviving in the perfect zpoc scenario but what about that stray bullet or the blood splatter that can come from anywhere at any time. Maybe it's not the most accurate example but, did D-Day soldiers survive because they were prepared and had the best survival skills? not really. they lived because the bullets and mortars hit the guys running next to them. the point being, sometimes shit just happens. Prime could be sitting in his camp after 2 1/2 years of fighting zeds w/out a scratch, reloading ammo or something and the powder explodes from a primer or Claire falls on her knife while gathering wild berries.
i'd like to think i'll do my best to survive and use the full capacity of my mind and surroundings, but even the best of us can crack up, slip up, or get caught in a situation that started out being made from the best decisions but collapsed into the worst with nobody being at fault. Sometimes the best die and worst live, the strongest fall and the weakest survive.

We'll survive, my kids will die,
We live off grid in the Rockies 100% self-sufficient if I need to. Guns, ammo, disaster items, clean water, bug out vehicles, stored gas & diesel, lots of solar and dynamo products, large scale camping gear along with personal camping gear, dogs, critters, 150 count Heritage Seed bank, etc. and I have all the skills, knowledge or resources to stay alive.
They live near NYC. They'll die unless they can make it to base camp over 2000 miles away.
You just have to decide to you stay and defend or stay clear. At some point, you'll have to stand your ground (whether Z's or mauraders) unless you are one lucky bastard.
