Our goal at Lost Zombies it to create a story world that revolves around a zombie apocalypse. We intend to create a mock-documentary about this world and we want you to help us. With those goals in mind, Lost Zombies is also a big experiment. We are always open to seeing the site evolve and produce new stories and projects, for example the Scrap Book project which has resulted in a publishing opportunity which will put a Lost Zombies book in major book stores around the world.

With these goals and objectives in mind tell us how we can improve the site.

Here are some questions you can think about if you need a place to begin....

1. What do you think about the features on the site (forums, groups, chat, etc.) Are there too many? Too few? Do they help us achieve out goals or hinder us?

2. What would make you submit more content (pictures, videos or blogs)?

3. How would you feel about a separate site that only features content (videos, pictures, writings, etc.) in a way that presents the Lost Zombies story world as a narrative experience rather then a community? (lostzombies.com would still exist as is)

4. What do you dislike about the lostzombies.com?

5. What do you like about the lostzombies.com?

6. Do you find lostzombies.com confusing? Do you feel lost on the site?

7. Do you care about the status of the film project or are you more interested in the social networking features of lostzombies.com?

Not to put a sales pitch here, but i run an internet radio station. www.firemageradio.com

we are legally licensed to play any and all content under the sun.

we are looking to do a zombie mini series.....like a radio cereal and such.

one thing i was asking for...is if anyone here would be interested in recording an audio cereal...a mini series that has to do with what lostzombies is wanting to put forth. i would love to promote this website...as well as my own. *i won't lie and be selfless...but i want to see this place grow as well*

would anyone be interested in creating their own zombie cereal to go live on the air across the world?

would the website admins be interested in some cross promotion?

as well as anyone that is interested in getting something put across

we are fully at lostzombies.com disposal

I'd just like to see a "Member Since" portion on the Members page. It gives you a reference on what an individuals knowledge of the sight might be and how you can interact with them.
I dig...
I'd like to see the featured written submissions more easily accessible. I was telling a friend about how good they were and when he looked for them I had to direct him to the part on the page. Not a lot of people see the featured submissions and I'd like to see them getting more credit for it instead of being at the bottom corner of the page.
1. I think the features help the overall goal, because they may attract people here who would not normally contribute. Once you get hundreds of people talking about something (ZOMBIES!!), you tend to unlock creative ideas in one form or another.
2. Personally, time will make me submit more works. I am more into the written side, but I see inspirational flashes in other people's videos/pictures/blogs that is sort of brewing to hopefully manifest into something usable for the final product.
3. A separate site would only make sense to me if we could sort everything chronologically and regionally. You have a map of the world and click a region and all the content for that region becomes active for you to sort through by date. Reading blogs that occurred there and seeing footage in the order they occurred would give it realism to me. We would have to work hard to keep the time line strong for it to flow.
4+6. LostZombies.com is huge. Everyday someone can refer me to some work I missed because I was late to this party. Although that is a positive because we have so much user generated content, it is a negative because it gets buried. Featuring content helps, but I can go through all of that quickly and still want more! I just need to be able to find it.
5+7. I love diverse community. I think the age/social status/region differences make for interesting conversation in the forums, awesome content, and a good place to make friends. I am more interested in that at the moment than the finished project, but that is more because the documentary is mysterious to me. I do not know which pieces have been chosen or who is all working on it. The social aspect is more "In your face" than the progress on the film. Once again this could just be because I do not know where to look.
Dude, you hit the nail on the head... (or the ZED on the head), anyway, you got some good points
I really like the idea of the regional thing. I think that would really encourage people to submit material if they could see the whole thing pan out in their country, region, continent. Oh and a weekly blog update on the status of the project would be cool too.
Maybe the news feed could be altered, often when i log on all it shows is responses to forum questions, or people spamming their new blog or video. When you come here it isn't obvious that you're trying to film a serious documentary with user's content, so maybe a 2nd site dedicated to such things would be productive. Maybe you could use the 2nd site as a reward for good video and photo uploads. Since you started the weekend projects a lot more usable footage seems to have been posted, so I'd say that is something you should stick with, or even expand. I think the site needs to focus more on the goal of making a documentary, and less on the social networking side.
I have always been intrigued by this site, ever since I stumbled across it... I really respect and admire the way you have kept a consistency and purity to your original vision, and ideals. Whatever you decide in the long run for"LZ", will always be for the best. My pet peeves are just the lack of direction in the chats, and since I am on the East coast, the slowness of the uploads, but other than that, YOU HAVE A GREAT THING HERE, DUDE, DON'T LET IT FADE!!!! I will always continue to submit my stuff, and like I said, I am trying to envision a future 10-12 years down the line.... I hope you can deal with that, and like I said, I will continue to contribute till the last dying breath... (And hope you put a bullet in me for my first undead breath.) HAAAA!!!!!!! HA!!!!!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
10-12 years down the line we will all either have a stable world after a zedapoc or YOU ALL will be dead.....
