Our goal at Lost Zombies it to create a story world that revolves around a zombie apocalypse. We intend to create a mock-documentary about this world and we want you to help us. With those goals in mind, Lost Zombies is also a big experiment. We are always open to seeing the site evolve and produce new stories and projects, for example the Scrap Book project which has resulted in a publishing opportunity which will put a Lost Zombies book in major book stores around the world.

With these goals and objectives in mind tell us how we can improve the site.

Here are some questions you can think about if you need a place to begin....

1. What do you think about the features on the site (forums, groups, chat, etc.) Are there too many? Too few? Do they help us achieve out goals or hinder us?

2. What would make you submit more content (pictures, videos or blogs)?

3. How would you feel about a separate site that only features content (videos, pictures, writings, etc.) in a way that presents the Lost Zombies story world as a narrative experience rather then a community? (lostzombies.com would still exist as is)

4. What do you dislike about the lostzombies.com?

5. What do you like about the lostzombies.com?

6. Do you find lostzombies.com confusing? Do you feel lost on the site?

7. Do you care about the status of the film project or are you more interested in the social networking features of lostzombies.com?

Speak for YOURself.

But on a serious note. I did like receiving the weekly update.
I really like the weekly/weekend contests, they're very good motivation to get off the couch and get filming!

One thing I would like to see is a "template" zombie for the LZ project. Looking through the photo submissions there's alot of disparity between people's interpretations of what zombies are like. It would be nice to have a stereotypical Campion zombie to model off so then the project has a unified look.

I like the idea proposed in point 3, it would give us alot more clarity as to how the project is shaping up, and where there are holes that need filming and filling in. Hopefully the sense of direction would also give more incentive for people to get filming.

With regards to point 7, I personally care more about the status of the film project than the social networking features, but I'm sure there are many people here who feel the opposite way about it.

One last point, with Skot's video updates, would it be possible to have the main points posted as a forum/blog/written form, as it's very difficult and not always possible to watch them on dial up and slower broadband :)
i suggest a Lost zombies Blackberry aplication it would be awesome. And a LZ spanish page, i think that the spanish people would like the Zed's subjects too. i'm a latin man.
lets just have a mobile LZ site for all smart phones ;]
I would like to see the catagories expanded to include audio content as well. I drive a truck for a living and listen to many radio documentaries, plays and audio books. It is very entertaining and with the right sound effects can be scary as hell. Just imagine driving down a state highway at night without a car in sight while listening to someone narrating the defense of their home with lots of gun shots and moans in the background as well as screams from the family members.

Just some food for thought.
SECOND!!!! SECOND!!!!
Thanks for the recommendations. If you have more, keep 'em coming.
it would be nice to know HOW the documentary is coming along - I remember seeing a few clips in the past. The main reason I joined was the documentary - I thought it was a damned original idea.

I've been a member for a little over a year and have seen the site grow enormously, but I also have noticed that the submissions have slowed down from a year ago.

Maybe you just need to get the word out again to get some fresh members for more content and interaction????
1. I like the features but since Halloween '10 they have gone kinda dead and I mostly just use LZ Chat now cos there is nothing new in the forums.
2. Competitions would give people an incentive to make and publish more stuff.
3. Meh, could juts be done on one site with a section for the documentary.
4. Has a short shelf life so you get bored of the forums easily cos there is not really a big variety of topics you can have, also people who register and either only use LZ for one day or inactive people. Also their is no ranking system for veteran members, the top content/member of the week is ok, but like giving people ranks like on Gamespot for all their activity, like 1 point when ever some one comments on your blog or other content.
5. Interesting people on chat, some funny/important info can be found if you sift around the forums and all the user publications are good to look at.
6. Not really, but I suppose it could be made more interesting if when you join you are treated like a survivor and have tasks to do to survive or summit.
7. Meh
update contests/events -.-
I think an art section would be nice, like back in the days when people used illustrations for media and illustrating storys, i think that might be really cool. but have maybe animations to.
Is there anyway u can improve the LZ mobile app for iPhone? I mean it's cool cause it has all these pics but can't u make it almost like FB app, where u can access your profile instead of using safari? Cause I can't chat with ppl on my iPhone and can't upload blogs, I only get to whenever my comp isn't spazing out on me :/
