Human Compassion

I hate to prod the bull here, but to be honest, I don't think most of us will shoot a fellow survivor in our group who snagged a bit more than his ration from someone else, furthermore a lot of you seem to think that there wont be a psychological aspect of killing the undead when at the beginning they still look like humans, I keep reading terms like "wasted" "dropped" and such. what's your take?

Well...You could pull a walking dead and shoot a guy in the leg, Then leave him for bait. Most of us won't have compassion for people who are stealing..but if they are helping us, No point to shoot them to save your own ass.

When you are months in to a Zpoc and food is short. You may not know where your next meal is coming from or you may be trying to feed your child. Some jerk off snatches the food from your pack or the cat from your spit. You aren't going to fight for that food? You aren't going to defend yourself if you are assaulted when you attempt to retrieve that meal? Horse theft was a hangin offense in the old west. Do you know why? It was so because if a man or woman was left afoot in the mountains or the desert they were as good as dead. They couldn't flee hostiles, they had no transport but their feet in a world as alien to them as Mars is to us. In a Zpoc, would I kill somene for taking my food? Would they try to kill me in order to take it? Yes!

Agree wholeheartedly with Prime! 

 

As for "furthermore a lot of you seem to think that there wont be a psychological aspect"  are you kidding me...I think most LZ members are fully aware of the psychological aspect of a zpoc.. there have been whole threads about it... depression, anxiety, ocd, etc the effects of isolation, the effects of cabin fever.

 

In terms of the theme in your question, killing those who take your food... I would wager most would... and those who wouldn't don't have the character to survive long enough for that to be an issue anyway... 

 

The mention of Shanes survival tactic lol..  I was pretty shocked but i have to say What choice did he have?  plus he got a cool hair cut out of it : ) lol
