I would love to buy a real hand made katana, buuuut i'm not ready to dish out a grand or more for one. Yet.

And to contribute to the thread: "snipers". People who think they will be able to pry themselves out of their couch, pick up a scoped high-power rifle and make an expert head shot on any target, moving, not moving, close, far, whatever. Anyone who has a magnifying scope on their main weapon might as well slit their own wrists right now....

yea.... damn Couch-Commandos.... this site has quite a few of them, but noticeably less than many survival sites.

to me it's kinda like those drunk driving commercials "you can always tell when you've had way too many... but how do you know if you've only had one too many?" except it's in reverse.

example:: it's really easy to tell which ones on these forums are the clueless idiots... but it's a little more difficult to spot the ones that know just enough to bullshit their way the rest of the time... these guys with their false knowledge are gonna get people killed with their need to show off.

quite a few of these knowledgeable, but non-practicing individuals will find they're gonna starve to death in the apocalypse right beside the clueless ones.

yeah, i'll admit if i just picked up a random weapon, i would not be able to make headshots all the time. but a katana, well i practice twice a week in aikido, and have been for about a year, so it would be possible form e to use on, but not plausible. that's why the weapon i choose is the axe in my garage, just for ease of use and familiarity.

not really..... to camp out and expect to live--that is sad and funny because they'll be the first to go. a scope can be quite useful on a m4 carbine for example. so you can pick off the zombies at a entrance or something.or not risk your ass getting infected if you want to thin a crowd of zombies out.

yeah i had this dumbass comboy kid "dakota" tell me that he would survive and would use only a whip to "knock off their heads"... the crack sounds zombies come he tries lashing them zombie grabs it pulls him forward and rips out the flesh on his neck.
