Which do you prefer, i'm a big supporter of independent zombie films rather than the big hollywood budget films. sure Zombieland was great and i can't wait for Zombieland 2, but after seeing the two big budget remakes of Dawn and Day i lost my faith in big budget zombie films

If big budget means known actors I could care less. Effects and decent acting with a good story is a movie. Put the budget where it belongs. In the movie not lining the pockets of some prima donna.
thats another thing that bugs me about Big Budget zombie films is the SFX, i prefer the hands on SFX rather than CGI
Yeah I like the hands on too but CGI do some decent things. As long as they keep it lifelike.
i liked the acid burn in Diary when he smashes the jar of acid on the zombies head
The problem with most big budget films is the people at the top who make the final decisions just "don't get it". They aren't fans of the genre and basically figure its for kids and kids will accept anything. With Indie films the people at the top are usually the same person as the people at the bottom and their enthusiasm for the genre shows through, it's also their own vision they are working on, not someone who they have never even spoken to's vision.
As long as they're delivering good Z movies around... Low budget or big doesn't matter to me ...
PS.Has anyone watched "Carriers" and "Autumn", yet ?
Severed ! ....
And Dead Man Walking
(Fuckin' awesome dude !)
