I'm sure things like cell phones, tv, and radio will become non-existent in a zombie apocalyptic world, but what about the internet? The government has obviously spent a lot of time and money to make sure it NEVER goes down, so what do you guys think? It would be smart for the government to keep it up because it could end up being our only source of communication.
Well until the satellites fall from the sky and as long as you can power up I'm sure there will be some form of communication out there. I don't believe the "Government" will do much at all in a full blown zpoc.
Receivers and transponders. They're available at your local radioshack or satellite TV company warehouse. It would take some work to get things working right. You'd have to find specific towers and such and be able to keep power flowing to them. You'd have to power the networks. Local communication would come up first. Then regional and so on. Satellite phones would work if powered up. The biggest issue will be, is there someone on the other end to recieve or send to you?
i know y tv and radio would go down but i dont think cell phones will. Because u know the people at the cell phone retailers who shut off ur phone will probably be dead and wont be able to do that.
Um internet dies first... You know i is the most complex and handled thing ever, even if the government tries to keep it up, if they don't have people to turn the switch pull the levers it will fail. Really the radio will be the last thing to still work since it really only requires a broadcaster.
I meant radio as in radio stations. I figure the people running them would either get bitten, or evacuate. That's why I said radio would be non existent. CB Radios would be the main source of communication. I feel that the cell towers/servers would get overloaded and probably go down during the initial outbreak. TV would probably go the same way as the radio stations, unless the government put up some kind of emergency station/broadcast. I figure the internet kind of runs itself, but I could be wrong, lol, I don't really know.
Well,y'all....having survived Katrina and been in that mess for 2 months,I can tell you cell phones were useless. Internet? nope. T.V.? sure.... til you loose power. Then poof...gone. The only thing that worked a week into it was the $10 world band radio that I was given grief for having and the C.B. that I snatched from a friend when he left town.I ran that bad boy off of a car battery. Also, mocked by my family til the time came and oops...it worked. And it helped.
And the government? no where to be found for 5 days. When it happens, my friends.... It will be every man for himself. I have seen the prelude to Z-day. It wasn't pretty.
