One of the biggest threats other than zombies IS going to be that element of society that preys on others. It happens every time there's some kind of disaster in this county where the social order is disrupted and there's no law to keep people from behaving themselves.

Stick to cascades in east there of in Washington and Oregon. I don't know what you know about the area, but starting with Eugene, Oregon, it's damn near one continuous city through Salem up to Portland, Vancouver, all the way up to Seattle and beyond. Millions are crammed into that area, so stay away.

It might be the case, but Portland-Salem-Eugene metro area is so saturated with hippies and sheeple that as soon as everything went to hell, they would just be lambs to the slaughter for the 1% element that would prey on them. Numbers would get thinned out pretty damned quick,

I would think that usual traits would just be polarised.
Forexample if you're the type of person who will meaningfully give some money to someone who is down and out or volunteer at some some kind of charity etc, then you will probably continue in that line of action. If you;re the type of person who wouldn't stop your car to help someone who has fallen down in the street then you probably won't break stride to help someone who has fallen down in a SHTF situation.
There will still be exceptions to the rule as always, situations may change people from one personality type to one totally oppposite etc
