hey guys,
There have been lots of discussions about the possibilities behind the campion virus, about how the zombies would act and how the virus would be transmitted... we've even had discussions about the possibility of mutations and even discussed how and why the walking corpses would last so much longer than the regular kind...
There's been artickles about zombie wasps and zombie ants and what certain viruses can make those insects do.... Well i just read an article http://www.care2.com/causes/zombie-virus-drives-caterpillars-to-an-...
And it reignited my passion for theorising on the Zombie Virus and how amazingly complex and clever it could be... I mean a lot of the time we get stuck on the classic zombie romero complex but the reality of a viral sourced zombie appocalypse has endless possibilities... i mean imagine if the campion virus itelf is was fulled it's need not to EAT other humans but puerly to spread the virus since after all all life wants to procreate... even tiny miniscule life like a virus... how about viruses that cause zeds to know how to climb... or swim... i mean the virus on the article makes the catapiller do something that it WOULD never ever do if it were not infected!!
just wanted to share and perhaps get others views and theory threads!!

Permalink Reply by Claire on September 20, 2011 at 6:49am I agree to some extent... only i don't think the aim of the virus is to "kill us off"... on the contray it needs us for it's own survival.
I think the dead zombie is unlikely also... as you guys say. The idea behind the term zombie is one who is under the control of a bokor or witch doctor - the part about reanimation of a corpse was more a myth and part of the mystical fantasy which gave the "witch doctors" their power, popularity or notoriety depending on your view... Obviously it's been proven scientifically that the heart and brain function can be slowed down to such an extent as to trick even advanced technology into confirming Death. This is far morelikely to be the case with the virus zombie... the reanimation is only seemingly so because the virus causes the heart and brain to slow down along with all other organs going into failure.. this would give the impression of death... however the virus would then re-ignite certain functions in the brain taking complete control of the body and seeking to transfer itself into other hosts in order to begin the cycle once again...
I agree than man is likely going to create such a virus if it hasn't already. And also agree that we have come face to face with DEADLY viruses in the past but i do not agree that the purpose of the virus is to kill only to spread....
What i think this means is that there is every possibility of the virus mutating... look at swine flu... it took just a few months for it to mutate...
"To survive unlike plants, animals and other organisms, the only way a virus can reproduce is through a host cell, which it does by attaching its surface proteins to the cell's membrane and injecting its genetic material into the cell. This genetic material, either DNA or RNA, then carries with it the instructions to the cell's machinery to make more viruses. These new viruses then leave the cell and spread to other parts of the host organism.
But host organisms are not passive observers to this process, and over time a human's or pig's immune system can learn from these encounters and develop strategies to prevent reinfection. (example swineflu) The next time the same virus comes to a host cell, it may find that it is no longer able to attach to the cell's surface membrane. So to survive, viruses must adapt or evolve, changing its surface proteins enough to trick the host cell into allowing it to attach.
The genetic material inside the virus plays an enormous role in how quickly a virus mutates, which in turn can impact how the illness can spread in the population.
Viruses that replicate through DNA use the same mechanisms the host cell uses to create its own DNA, a process that includes a kind of "proof-reading" of the genetic material being copied. This means mutations occur more slowly.
Examples of DNA viruses such as smallpox. These viruses spread through human populations and were often fatal. But once vaccinations were developed viruses like smallpox were contained and all but eradicated. RNA viruses, on the other hand, replicate without a similar proofreading activity, and as a result, errors in the genetic coding occur. Its these errors that allow RNA viruses, such as influenza and HIV, to mutate rapidly from host cell to host cell, and make it difficult for vaccines and natural immunities to keep up and prepare for new strains of the virus."
These mutations bring with them endless possibilities ... and makes the campion flu ALL THE MORE TERRIFYING!! lol..

Remember that scene in Resident Evil... The zombie dogs, those things freaked me out man!
In the end humans are also like a virus, so maybe the Campion virus was what we deserved! Maybe it was created by Humans or maybe that was what made the dinosaurs extinct, and humans simply reactivated it!
Now just imagine a Zombie Lion, with armour upgrades, and with a remote controlled adrenaline injector... and hard chromed teeth and nails. I can only predict which behaviour that will induce!
CHRZ!

Permalink Reply by Claire on September 22, 2011 at 3:57am I agree up until the die and come back part and reason for flesh hunting..
I do beleive that the flu and the vaccines are all designed to compromise the immunity of the population... THats why i won't have the flu vaccines and won't let my kids have them either... the human body is designed to fight of viruses and bacteria... all the extra chemicles in food and the antibiotics fed to animals and hormones given to cows to produce milk.. they're fucking up the body's ability to look after itself
