I saw it live on G4's coverage of E3... and I can't wait. I believe that there will be chainsaws. I wonder if the pan will also be a weapon (basing this off the final shots)?

ya the chain saw will be a wepon and so will the pan but it is week. i was on youtube and i wached some of the gameplay.

YEEESSS!!!!! I always got the urge to wield a chainsaw in the first L4D as it is and was dissapointed with the lack of melee, I'm so glad this looks like it may finally be an option in the new one.
And the new tank looks awesome too!

ya is saw the trailer already and it looks i dont have an xbox 360 i am the only one of my frends who dosent. but i beet the first one at a frends house. when i saw the second trailer my jaw droped.

You know before everyone gets all hyped over this. you should think about what it means for the l4d1 community and the community for both games. It will split them in half completely. Also note that as L4D2 is coming out roughly a year after the first one, that must mean they began work on #2 as soon as they released #1
All this awesome new content? WAS PROMISED FOR L4D1!! They give us the SDK half a year after they told us they would, and as it seems now the game is going to all be user content dependent, they are giving up on #1 and a lot of us refuse this injustice!
Atleast make the sequel an expansion type game so that the people playing #1 don't have to suffer from split communities. Make the expansion free in the form of updates as was promised, or at least sell it at discount price to the people whom already paid full price for this year long beta test we've been playing! I don't want to fork up another 50 bucks for a game that should have been added into the one i' playing right now!

Ya know, I came back here to look this up and see what kinda commentary is being posted about this and I knew this would be here, where to begin.
A) The community. I'm sure all the butthurt 12 year olds can play with each other. You guys can all play L4D together whining about how g** L4D 2 is. You don't have to worry about that.
B) L4D1 was made completely from scratch, hence it took much longer to make. L4D2 is built OFF of L4D1 so that means all the basic coding, model creating is already done which takes a hell of lot less time than making something from scratch. It's just common sense.
C) Content. You are basically wanting something for nothing, that they said about a year ago. Really? What about the survival mode, you got that for free. This is where the L4D Boycott group really shines, all this entitlement. Well truth is, you are not entitled to anything but what comes on the disc. Enough said. If you buy a game, expecting more stuff for free. You're an idiot. And they never said they were giving up on 1. So you're being extremely childish.
D) This is a full blown sequel. Why? 5 New Maps, 4 New characters, 20 New weapons, 3 New Special Infected, new dialogue, new AI Director 2.0 with the ability to change map paths AND weather effects. This does not warrant an expansion but a full sequel. Either way, you'd still be paying for this, except with DLC, over a long period of time.
And if you haven't already gotten $50-60 worth of fun from L4D, you're doing it wrong. And if $50 is already too much for another awesome video game, well you have more important things to worry about than video games.
The L4D Boycott group is a bunch of whiny, self-entitled brats. Enough said. L4D2 preorders have already doubled that of L4D. So that tells you something.

Yeah, I don't think anyone cares about a boycott group for a video game...Religious cults have been trying for years to pull games out of production and off the shelves...and they actually have money backing them up...So sorry...
But I tell you what you can do...you and your friends can start lobbying to have video games installed in every office of the capital building...that would be productive...

Changes like this could alter the game altogether...Imagine that the most logical path extends right past a fuel truck, but there are hoards of Zed charging from that location...If you blow it up, you seal off the path, but if you don't, you'll have to deal with hundreds of zombies...the choice is yours...only you don't know it's a choice, except during the tutorial where they introduce the concept...maybe a way to see the creativity of survival in a game...
