Lost Zombies Live Event: Brainstorm Area

The basic idea behind the live event is to host a 24 hour day-one-zombie-apocalypse scenario. I don't have a plan for exactly how we would execute this live event, which is why I'm giving you guys a chance to voice ideas, concerns and comments. Essentially we would choose a day and on that day, we act as though the zombie apocalypse is beginning and we'd invite you all to play along and document the event as though it were real.
Here's a random list of ideas I'm thinking about:
- Users sign up to be part of the event.
- On a specific day, at a predetermined time the event goes live.
- The event has a fixed duration (probably 24 hours)
- Once the event is live we send out plot points that inform participants on what is happening. These will be presented as though they are really happening. For example we may show a news clip of zombies escaping Camp St. Teresa.
- Broadcasts will be in multiple formats: videos, text message, tweets, web posts, voicemail.
- We will give provide lots of ways for you to participate (all optional). You'll be able to go to a website, receive text messages on your mobile, call a phone number, interact with in-character people via Skype... we may even create an android/iPhone app that provides updates on the event.
- Participants will be asked to document the live-event as though it were real. This may include: shooting video, recording audio, taking photos, etc....
- We may invite participants to appear at specific locations and actually act out scenarios.
- If it's not already obvious, there will be some level of role playing involved.

Keep in mind that none of this is set in stone, we're very early in the planning process.

Do the news clips from unknown sources. so it's not a lostzombies channel like on vimeo or youtube. make a specific account with a misleading name. so people who don't know what we're doing will trip out. Kinda like a war of the worlds trick. That fuckin bath salt stuff got everyone pumped up. Make something fake or acted out but with that effect to kick off the event. Have the shock troops spread it on whatever accounts they have.
