You're in a 12'x12' room staring at a closed door. Past the door is your exit, down a long narrow hallway (7'x7'). There are 4 zeds (runners) blocking the exit100 feet down the corridor. They won't notice you until you open the door.
Your inventory:
-.500 S&W Mag. (only 2 shots)
-a dull hand saw (dull meaning it won't pierce a skull if swung)
-10 feet of braided rope
-a 10', 1"x2" board.
You have your materials....go.

Break the board in half, tie it together with the rope. Use the rope as a handle.
Permalink Reply by Tori Luve on November 9, 2011 at 6:23am the board is a 1 x 2 - if you break it in half, your shield is only going to be 4" x 5 feet. The hallway is 7' wide. When you say "shield", are you planning on holding length-wise to push the Z's to one side of the hallway. Running straigt down the middle of the hallway, you'll have a 1 foot gap on each side. Just sayin. . .

Permalink Reply by Tori Luve on November 8, 2011 at 3:55pm Unbraid rope into 3 - 10 foot lengths. Cut 1x2 into 5 - 2 ft lengths. Sharpen 4 of the sticks into stakes using dull hand saw.
Take apart hand saw. Loop blade over one stake. Bind and secure blade into place on stick using rope making a horseshoe shaped saw blade.
Take unsharpened stick, bend handsaw frame into a V, making a "hatchet" type point. Use screws (from deconstructing the hand saw) and rope to bind and secure blade into place.
Take 2 stakes, bind end with rope to use for throwing, sticking, stabbing, as nunchucks, etc.
5th Stake is to be used for clubbing, stabbing, etc.
If door opens out, tie 10 foot of rope to door handle so you can slam it shut using the rope and also to block runners from getting inside.
If the door opens in, tie off 13 feet of rope from one side of the room to another, using electrical outlets or whatever is available (open outlet plate, tie to wiring behind outlet or switch), making a trip wire.
Plan: Open door and eliminate each runner individually. Ideally, shoot the first 2, then go one on one with the remaining 2 by letting one at a time into your room. Dispatch with above weapons.
Using door opens OUT scenario, open door, runners come towards you from 100 feet away, you should be able to shoot 2 of them before they make the door. The other 2 will trip up on their fallen comrades and that will slow them down a bit. Now you have already closed the door, they are snarling and drooling outside the door.
You leverage the rope around your waist so if you need to pull the door shut quickly, you can do so with one hand while using the remaining weapons to kill each one. Additionally, since you are inside and can buy yourself some time, you take the gun and tie a rope to it so you can swing it like a mace at their heads. (Ouch that hurts).
If the door swings IN, you have 100 feet to dispatch 2 Z's with the gun. The other Zs are slightly slowed down by their fallen comrades. They reach the door way and boom, both fall over the trip wire (rope). You choose your weapon wisely, and bring down the hatchet into the skull of the 3rd Z. Now you face the 4th, wizzing your nunchucks in the air with enough force to crack open his head, and while he is dazed and oozing, you club him to final death.
You gather your remaining weapons: empty gun, nunchucks, saw thingee, stakes, club, ropes, wiping the blood from the hatchet on your pant leg, and sneak out through the exit, to live another day.
