Information such as what country you live in and what part of said country would be EXTREMELY helpful!

In Australia many state governments offer grants to ameture film makers. Local governments might also be interested if you can showcase certain aspects of your local area.

Perhaps you can ask at local universities in film and tv studies faculties.
i thank you mr valentine. i live in a little town called union bridge, maryland, usa. the us offers grants too but none of the ones iv seen look all that promasing. i think i might end up getting a grant for opening my own buisness. i wanna start my own production company.
Write your congressman or senator and ask them if there are any grants for the arts to compete for....
www.withoutabox.com There is a forum there where you can get ideas. Or you can be like me and work in Iraq for a year or two to get funds for your movie.
Wish I knew. But good luck with that :)
Hello Vincent,
I am in somewhat the same boat. Script is complete storyboard is underway. Interest has been generated. As far as grants go, that i am not aware. The route i am following is this. I intend to shoot a scene from my script in about November. I will use that to generate interest and funding. Luckily the state i live in provides a 30% tax credit for films done IN the state utilizing local workers. Another option is to do some research on film companies, distributors and such. Some companies can grant finishing funds for some projects. Some are willing to produce the entire project but be prepared to decide how much control you are comfortable with losing if it is picked up.
There are a few companies in my state that are working on multi film deals, and at times are advertising for scripts, but again. how much of your dream are you willing to compromise.

So having said all that. Research production companies that produce this kind of work.

thank you very much for the advice. trying to figure this stuff out has been driving me insane over the past few months. once again thank you and ill keep everybody posted. let me know how yours works out. i would love to hear that it goes well.
Well I was supposed to shoot the epilogue for the film this August but unfortunately due to work issues I was not able to take leave to do so. We are going with the feature and short film next August but I have the 2nd draft of the script Copyrighted and Registered with the WGA. All I can tell you is be persistant and scrimp and save whatever money you can to put towards the film.
thanks for this. im wondering though, how did you go about getting it copyrighted? what kind of steps do you have to go through?
In what ways will this film be "like nothing anyone has ever seen before?"
when was the last time you walked away from a movie and were actually scared? thats the effect im going for. pure fear not because of things popping out and goin "boo", but because it is realistic. true fear brought about by true realism. i want people to walk away from my movie questioning things they've never questioned. that is like nothing anyone has ever seen before.
