If a Zombie outbreak occurred what would you use for a melee weapon? I would use a baseball bat

I'll agree that most people have unrealistic approaches to swords, and they also believe their Lord of the Rings replica swords will suffice in the great Zombie Apocalypse, but Everything you're talking about says puncture...you don't want to puncture with melee weapons, you want to do exactly as you said, blunt force trauma. Blunt force trauma in not intended to puncture, although it sometimes does. a piece of reebar is just as good as your Wrecking bar when it comes to defending against zombies...
Blunt force can take numerous strikes. A well placed spike, dagger, knife or rebar in the softer parts of the skull can end things quickly
....actually ive bent piece of rebar swingin em at a tree.....
and as for the wrecking bar.. the chiseled straight end will puncture
the curved nail pulling end is great for shattering skulls and the like and mushin up brains
Chainsaws get clogged with meat so they are not a good choice. Also dangerous for the user. I have a Mauser K-98 bayonet that would work great. It has a sharp edge and it's long enough to go through a torso. Not that putting it through a zombie torso would do any good. If you've seen the movie No Country For Old Men, there is a weapon one of the guys uses that has a tank of compressed air connected to a steel pin on a piston. It's what they use to kill cows and there's no ammo wasted.
that's annoying and heavy to carry around and you gotta be within 6 inches of the guy
it's called a captive bolt gun
BTW, Any stabbing weapon has a high chance of getting stuck in a skull is you can even get it in there. So if there are several zombies, and if you don't score a deadly blow, your weapon could walk off and never be seen again.
Hey bring my Katana back here........
Everyone is fascinated with that compressor from NO COUNTRY... that shit will get you bit like easy. - Jooz Boxx
i still like the ideal of my ninja-to good heavy blade but short as well making it easyer to fight in narrow paths and easy to clean ....
crowbar and a cricket bat!!!
A alluminum bat, my trusty "combat ready" katana or any one of the brutal objects in my father's shop that I could swing at a zombies neck and/or skull.
aluminum will bend.... combat ready, is rarely ever combat ready. now for the brutal things in your dad's shop
