Most Unorthodox Bug Out Bag Item?

Of course we all know to stock our Bug out Bags with things like ammo and a crowbar, but what about the unconventional things?

I believe that as much shooting and drama as there will be, eventually I'll have boring downtime and even a few everyday annoyances, so a few things I'm including in my bag are a small paperback copy of Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, vacuum packed espresso and coffee as well as a small mocha pot, and an afro pick for my beard.

What are some unorthodox items you're including?

a parachute could be used in clothing, housing, sun screen, camoflage, etc.  I have 4 of them.

I'd have to go with spray paint just so I can leave messages for you guys during my travels on where to find me or the inevitable, do not enter.

i'd change that to a grease pencil, sharpy, or chalk. each of these right on practically every surface. there much smaller then a spray paint can to carry around with you. and with the spray paint what are you gonna do if the can ruptures and you get paint all over your supply's.

Again, the choices are still very usefull for comms so I don't believe they are unorthodox.

When it comes down to it anything that gives someone the feeling of normalcy can't really be unorthodox. A game or reader to help you chill out and relax, a cup of flavored joe from your favorite pot does the same thing. These things take the edge off. They help you relax.

Unorthodox [uhn-awr-thuh-doks] not conforming to rules, traditions, or modes of conduct, as of a doctrine, religion, or philosophy; not orthodox: an unorthodox ideology. This is one definition and the one I think most of us would go by. 

 

Maybe we're looking for the personal vices that we believe others might think a little odd or different. Eli had his iPod and braille Bible. Again like the guys witht he Kindle and hand held games, they are what's left of normal. Unorthodox might be Saint.357's zapper glove instead of a taser.

i wont argue that its unorthodox but you gotta admit it would be useful right? i didn't think you saw my posts about it. i've been wanting to get your feed back on the glove. so what do you think?

I have access to tasers. I wouldn't want to get in arms length of a zed if I can help it. If its what you have then you use it.
