My number 1 favorite zombie movie of all time. This movie is an important American film with a strong social message.

true!
Of course this is by and far the original and still scary zombie flick of all time.

I still remember going into our local film festival theater during Halloween and watching it on the big screen. It isn't part of my favorite top 5 because while I appreciate it as the catalyst for the Z-following and its classic talent, it doesn't deliver everything I want in a zombie movie which I think took its best turn with Fulci.
Still this will always remain as THE zombie movie.
I think its the best romero film, just ahead of Dawn. Everything about it is great and considering the year it was made, way ahead of its time.
It was a horror movie in a generation of "munster movies." It was believable and, I can recall myself and my two sisters crying over it! That and, when the little girl killed her mom really messed up my sisters! The remake wasn't bad, just no better.
Apart from the bug eating zombie this movie is perfect.
he was hungry :D

the remake is terrible beyond words though :(
no way!
Tom Savini did a spectacular job on the remake!!
Sure the original was good and all, a obvious cult classic but i cant help but lean more towards the side of remake
Both had there pro's and cons..i just feel Savini took it to the next level
and its not like he didn't know what he was doing
The remake shouldn't of been a "remake" they ruined all of the best parts of the the original movie, they should of just called it something else... it was anyway.
And call me crazy but I like the simple zombie makeup from the original better.
Tom Savini shouldn't direct movies, I know I know everyone loves him... but no.
awww I agree and diagree, the first is always better then the second. but after watching both of them they are similar but differnt, I think tow savini did a great job. that is why George Romero had him direct it..on the remake i like when the brother falls on the headstone! but all these opinions are bias, but I do enjoy what everyone input has. I gonna watch the original one tonight!
Easily one of the greatest zombie films of all time.
One of the best movies ever made... and hands down THE best zombie movie ever made.
I hated the remake though they messed up the end.
