We have a couple of discussions about kids in the z-poc, what about the older people?
At 50 I'm not as fit as I used to be, I can walk all day but running is another question. During winter the arthritis in my hands (too many years of sword polishing with finger stones) doesn't give me full use untill I've warmed up a bit.
On one hand you have the fact that older people tend to be slower and not so fit, on the other they have years of real life experience and knowledge to share.
You gonna leave us behind or take us with you? I can assure you, you won't be taking my stuff with you without me.:)

Better keep him on your site then.

Okay I will adjust my opinion a little.
Some of the seniors can be very usefull, though the may not be fast. But I guess they have more experience then I have. So okay, it will depend on the skills of the senior.
older people unless they get to the point of can hardly move are always amazing to have with you my dad is 56 and he walks/runs 8 miles a day
The older I get the older I believe a "Senior" to be.
ill take anyone 50 or below there still good for either barricades thraps guns and if all else fails...... bait
People seem to be throwing 50 around as being old, when I read the title of this I was expecting the discussion to be on people 80+ I don't know if that shows my lack of age...accountability/concern? or others lol, maybe just a changing of the times
I think compared to the average member here 50 is old. Personally aside from a few aches and pains I feel the same as I did when I was 21, I also know a few people in their 60's that could kick my ass any day as well as a lot of younger ones. Unfortunately the in firmed and elderly (over 65 ) will have a hard time, but then so will the younger and in firmed people, those with crippling injuries, vision problems etc.

But here's a question... Do junkie zeds still need their fix? Or do they only bite other junkies?

to me my grandma is old she is 86 my dad isnt old most people are kidding if they think 50 is old my families friend is almost 70 and could kick my ass and he had 2 trees fall on him and he doiesnt even need a cane
My father in law is 65. He is "fit fir his age". He can shoot and react well. He would just need a bit of assistance in moving out and keeping up. For all his skills and knowledge I would consider him more of an asset then any "younger" person.
Well, 50 isn't old to me. I work with way older people. But I don't know the average member age here...

The people who I work with in the carehome are 70+, but most of them aren't that fit att all. If you would have one of those poeple in your group, they will only slow you down.
I know then when the outbreak happens and I'm at work, then I'll rush home. Too bad for the poeple in my carehome, but I don't want to take that risk.
Maybe we have to get some suicide pill in carehomes. That when it happend they ( the older people) can decide to take the pill, and die in 'peace' or to be one of the undead.
But I think that 80+ olderly people are damned to die early in the apoc anyway. Since they are not the fittest anymore.
Right there with ya mate, everyone has they'er place.
I will take you with me as long as it benefits the group. If not, I'll let you keep your things when your gone. If it makes you feel good, I would just as much leave behind a Navy SEAL if he did not pull his weight in the group. The point is as long as you can contribute in some way, then I would gladly protect and maybe, just maybe give my life for you. I would expect the same i return. Everybody in the group pulls their weight and we can start a survivors colony and stand a much better chance at survival. As people get older we can let them focus on the job of teaching the young, and taking care of less physical jobs. Essentially, I agree with others when they say everyone has their place.
