I just went over the time line again and I was wondering about other countries. The time line centres on the US and how it was dealt with there. One thing about the US that separates it from most other western countries is the way that health care is dealt with. In most of the other western countries universal health care is the standard so the story line of help for the uninsured doesn't work.
It also raises several other issues...would the virus spread faster in countries where anybody can walk in to any health care facility and be treated? Also what would the governments of these countries do to contain the virus, they couldn't just set up camps specifically for treatment with out a lot of suspicion. Then again if the virus is spread faster in these countries would the government even have time to react?
The reason I ask is that I want to do the weekend projects (I know its too late to enter the contests) and I was going to do them along the time line. Then I started thinking about how things would pan out here in Canada.
I don't want this thread to turn into a health care debate, I am honestly interested in points I raised and I would like to hear opinions on them not government policy. Thanks.
well pal, in most of the third world country like indonesia the virus spreading would be fuckin' terrible !
most of the people are too friendly and also the bad condition of such as way of life, sanitation and pathetic health care caused by too much fuckin' corruption inside the governments (they don't give a damn about public problems, only themself). so when the infection spreads blasting like a massive fuckin' hellfire on a poor development country, it'll make the nazi holocaust looks like cartoon network programs !!! that's why I always keep my machete sharpen everyday ! and waiting patiently if the zpocs happening ! shitty time will happens sooner or later, dude ! hahahahaha !!! I'll be - either dead already or become an outlaw !
You raise a good point, I'm always thinking about Canada and how it would deal with stuff like this and how it does deal with epidemics and pandemics. The government really dropped the ball here on SARS but we were able to rebound quickly because we have money and resources. I'd hate to see what it would be like in Africa or in other developing countries. I've been to a bunch of those countries and life there is hard enough on a daily basis.
