Plants and animals...

So I was reading a post by The Bruin in which he started talking about herbalism and horticulture and I got to thinking...with all this infected blood spilling all over the place, would you think it possible that plant life could carry the infection dormantly until someone comes along and eats it?

My simple outlook is this, blood and organic tissue can be used as a type of fertalizer, so why not? I know it kinda dooms the human race but what do you think...
