I'd have no issues finding food and water. I'd continue to look for gun powder, lead, slugs and anything I could use to make them. I buy ammo by 500 or 1000 round boxes and will have a decent stock. I also reload the rounds that I shoot. Sooner or later ammo and supplies will slim out. The one with the powder will be boss. LOL! Or left alone liek I want to be.

T.P is very essential. But another thing I would have to take would be toothpaste and toothbrush. I hate the feeling I get when I havent brushed my teeth

foraging, salvaging? that's what you guys will do. there's no way you can call my actions not looting.

i'll be taking stuff without paying while there's people still working in the store (there's no point going in there after the mob has goes thru it and everything's abandoned)

I have a list of must-haves and a very long list of "I wants". it includes typical looter stuff- electronics, cash, jewelry, coin shops, tobacco, alcohol, vehicles (besides the ones I need), boy's toys (dirt bikes, jet skis, ATVs, go carts, etc).

 

the electronics while not important to my survival, can be used later to set up a very large CCTV system. or for trade use, or possibly target practice if I got way too much.everything else its nice to have but not essential or any major part of my plans. tobacco for recreational use or trade, same for alcohol. gold & silver isn't required but i have almost nothing at the moment so its good to have. jewelry has some value even if its pretty much useless. cash has little or no value when the government goes down, but until then I can buy stuff with cash. just some places are not worth looting, mostly gun stores, its a good way to get shot a 30-50 times in under 5 seconds by at least 6 people. you gotta have cash, as I'm sure none of the stores as stupid enough to take checks or credit cards (which has absolutely no value). even with cash i might need to dish out 100X regular prices.

BOOKS. I would collect as many books and magazines as I could. Someone has to remember. someone has to keep history alive or we will be doomed to repeat it.

I would love to see what you would consider essential books, in the stranded on a desert island with only 5 type of scenario.

 

For no other reason than to buy them myself afterwards...lol.

I'd probably grab the booze. Though it could be an essential. It can clean wounds and help you fall asleep to the constant zombie moaning.
