Prisons.....

So...I've seen the "barricade yourself in the mall" scenario beaten to death....something I thought of a while back....that about prisons? prisons are the modern castles when you think about it. High walls...good security...food....the works. Obviously there's the issue of "prisoners." Could be resolved by letting them loose...and seeing what happens...whatever....

tell me what you think.....

Great question. I guess it would only apply to people already in prisons. I would think most people wouldn't think, never mind be able to gain access to a prison in the event of a zombie outbreak. The guards will have it shutdown pretty hard.

But for the guards who work there, they know the place and how it works so it would be a great place to hold up for them. The prisoners would be a problem as they would take up food and safety concerns are obvious. The guards would know the trouble makers and the bad people, and they could be simple pushed out of the gates and forgotten about. The ones who are not serious offenders and who are decent could be intergrated into the group of survivors maybe.

Agreed, having the guards secure the prison works out a lot better then a group who has no idea who’s who and where’s everything. I especially like the idea of throwing out all the hard cases out the gate, presumably into the waiting mauls of hungry zombies.

You're assuming the Guards are gonna show up for work when the shit hits the fan....... I bet they'd do what I would do. Take care of friends and family...... There's a point where government is going to break down. I believe it will be sooner then later.

I'm pretty sure that they would actually tear themselves apart be there for violent crimes or not. It would be the last place I would want to go looking for safety.
