Honestly, firepower is all about handguns and close range shotguns...If a zed is any farther than 10 feet away, why waste bullets? Just run away from it...these weapons are meant to thin a hoard of zed and creating a means of escape. If you really want to start clearing the world of zed, you need only set traps with mucho explosives...keeps you out of harms way, and has the potential to kill many zed at once...

But seriously, the type or handgun, rifle, or shotgun really depends on the individual weilding them...like warmarshall stated, dual weilding isn't always effective...but having multiple sidearms are good...I personally can handle the weight and constant kick of a magnum, or 12 guage...I'm 240 lbs...but most women, and smaller people would fatigue quicker using the heavier weapons...besides, what's the chances of finding the high calibur guns without owning them?

In my area, the most common weapon I'd find is a glock...and a few automatic weapons...probably wouldn't find any shotguns, and I own my melee weapons...Swords are best...
yeah, i like how someone finally points out that little kids scrawny arms cant dual wield desert eagles. and about women, im not hatin on the ladies, but smaller caliber please, has anyone seen any recoil vids on youtube? my favorite is when the 90 lb chick gets nailed in the face with the desert eagle.
well she got clocked hard in the nose by the .50 AE pistol is mostly because the guys around here (who where experinced with the gun) deliberately didn't say a thing about the gun other than "put your tongue back in your mouth"

And another thing, what if you don't have either a shotgun or a handgun and only have a hunting rifle like a .30-06 or a 7.mm. Use what you have and what your experienced with.
yeah, it wasnt really her fault, but it was funny as hell.
yea. using a weapon appropriate for yourself is vital..... i'm also tired of people and thier damn obsession with swords. owning a fake sword you bought in the mall and swinging it around in the garage does NOT qualify you as a sword master... swords are very, very high maintainance weapons that require alot of actual training to be used effectively. and sad to say, if you believed everyone at face value on the forums... we'd have nothing but rambo samurai superheros around here...

i wish people would be realistic. what does a sword accomplish other than slicing flesh? what good is sliced flesh against a zombie? even if you could decapitate the head, who wants a rolling, biting head flying through the air at your face? swords have one use, and thats to kill. an axe can be used as a tool. a sword cannot. a hammer can be used as a tool, and a prybar. a sword cannot.

it all boils down to style for these people. swords look cool. i wanna look cool. therefore i should have a sword.

of course, i'm not just picking on the sword-masterbators. anyone who thinks they want a desert eagle is also an idiot who's never fired one. there are many reasons why it is a horrible weapoins.

first among those issues is the habit of it jamming. this is an issue with the feeding mechanism. the spring within the magazine is simply too weak.

2nd is the low magazine capacity. 7 rounds? you have got to be joking.

3rd is the rarety of ammunition. at almost $3.00 a bullet how would you ever surplus enough?

4th, why would you need that large a caliber? what are you planning to accomplish? what specific need would one have that would call for the consistant use of the firearm in that caliber?

5th, the recoil delay is horrible. the time it takes to recover from a shot, and accurately take aim at your target before firing again is simply too late.

i blame video games for over embellishing "powerful" weapons to appeal to the uneducated room-hermits who are never allowed out of the house, due to either social anxiety issues or because they have overbearing paranoid parents afraid to let their little babies outside to experience life..... *gasp* run on sentence.

bleh....
Agreed!
Lol true dat

Imagine that desert eagle video with the chick...but with both hands
KA-KRACK!!
also hitting a moving target in the head with a pistol is way harder then it looks I am a firearms instructor and my company shoots officually twice a year but some of us go out more offten and head shoots on a stationary target is hard even with practice , I would rather have a ruger 10/22 with a bunch of quality ten round mags for zombie killing then anything else

ok a twelve gauge shot gun a mossberg with a 9 round tube and a ruger in 22 magnuim would be the best so there you go. save the desert eagle for GTA and resident evil and save your ar for shooting deer when the grocery stores run out
Yes, really, swords are best. Because you'll never run out of bullets. And, insted of an axe or something in that catagory, a sword runs just through the head. It won't stick in it. Maybe you should get some experience with water melons or rolled tatamies. The best kind of sword for cutting action is, I think, katana. But I like European longswords.
Maybe you should carrie a sharp knife with you. Not to fight Zombies but Murphy is always near and when you run away and you struggle in a rope (maybe at a harbour) you can cut yourself free.
i train 3 times a week in aikido, which is the form of martial arts that the samurai used, and one of the main themes in the advanced classes is sword training, with a wooden katana of course, but i think if i picked up a real one, it wouldn't be much different, they make them the same weight .
the katana is the sharpest blade in the world supposebly and where used in diagonal blows to the head i think
a weapon that doubles as a lock breaker or for forcing doors open might be good t have as well , like a crow bar or a hooligan tool , or that new demo hammer from stanly
