So, after many hours of investigation and game play, I've finished playing through RE 5. I've come to question if the game is even centered around zombies anymore. Los Plagas isn't about zombies, but rather control of the infected. And Uroboros would be the "super-virus" that creates bosses, or mutates the host form.
What is your feelings about the changes from T virus and G virus to los plagas and Uroboros?
i believe if they had followed the rules and made the game about the traditional zombies, it wouldn't have been so signature and would've most likely turned out like every other zombie game.
the same could be said about Left 4 Dead and it's specialized zombie types. we all know zombies don't only come in five versions but it made the game interesting and easy to identify. Anytime you hear the words Hunter, Boomer, Witch, or Smoker, it's more likely to reference it to Left 4 Dead than anything else. The viral/ parasite take could be said the same about Resident Evil.
I don't disagree, but I'm looking at the fact that the game was already an established story line, before games like Left 4 Dead and Dead Space. The story changed, but I'm not entirely sure what to think about the changes. Is it okay? Will the series now die off because of the decisions they've made? That's what scares me the most...not having a RE game in the works.
yeah, i don't understand the adaption concept the guys behind RE are laying out but all i can hope is that they don't warp the storyline so much that it can't be recognized as the original Resident Evil.
in response to this. alot of the previous installments centered on umbrella and the progenitor virus, which was later developed into the Tvirus, basically Umbrella was completley wiped out and a new strain of the virus was developed, which ultimatley leads to present resident evil times, "las plagas" a virus that acts as a parasite, which takes over its host, altering there mind, making them controllable. i do like this concept, it adds a whold new twist to the franchise. making the typical zombie not even really a zombie, theyre faster stronger and it makes me fell on edge when i play the game. if you watch the movie sequences, the story unravles more. i like this adaption to the game, obviously they zombie era ended when they made code: veronica. and at least we get to still have returning characters. really it all ties in quite nicely, because the whole plan of every protagonist is to destroy the B.o.w's that were created, nothing has changed there.
hopefully we will get something more out of all of this. this is one of the most popular franchises in gaming history, resident evil 4 did so well with that change, resident evil 5 the same though shorter game play. i would like to see, claire and rebecca back. this could go on for a long time or die out, either way we are blessed with good games. some suck, like the gun survivor games. i feel this change will not kill the integrity of the franchise.
I like the new storyline, but I'm just not sure where they are going to go from here. I don't want to say anything about why, but the question is...after the results of RE 5, where can they go from here? Are they going to travel to japan next?
The introduction of Tricell does open up the possibility of moving on, but Umbrella is pretty much the baddest company ever created. What are we going to do without them?
Agreed, i think that Tricell will be the new Umbrella. in the Umbrella Chronicles on the Ninetendo Wii...thats where you see the demise of Ozwell Spencer the Founder of Umbrella/ it also delves into that in RE5. also in one of the last chapters of the game you, see that connection with umbrella and tri cell. i definately believe we will see more RE in the future. Tricell probably in the center of the drama
besides its too early to tell what they are brewing up. i mean the Japaneese have alot of influence since they are the creators. look at what happened to Silent Hill, their original Japaneese team sold the rights to an american branch and we got a good game out of it.....so anything is possible. i wouldnt worry too much about it. go and get a Wii, theres somemore RE games getting ready to drop.
Trust me, I've got it. PS3, 360, wii, DS, PSP...I'm an entertainment whore...I have just gotten so into other games that I never really dove into Umbrella Chronicles too far, but I'll start looking into some more game time...
I understand your concern...D:
I'm always going to play Resident Evil, but uh...
the "taking away my zombies" made me kinda frustrated. ):br /> I understand THEIR concern too.
they need to make up fresh ideas for the next generation of people to play.
they can't repeat the same mistake over and over.
I mean, how many other corporations will make massive outbreaks of the t-virus again and again? D: that's un-realistic [at least to their logic.] now...a re-make...or some other story revolving zombies but with their style...and graphical technology....now that's something =D
