How intelligent are runners really? I've heard that they hide during the day time, but I dont know if this is true. I have also heard that they are technically still alive. I need info about runners please.

perhaps they just make harder targets. They try to bite, they get shot.
i thought runners were olympic sprinters who had been zombified. lol
As far as hiding goes, a zombie doesn't have the capacity to figure out that hiding might actually be a good way to catch prey.
Runners are complicated, as ive never been close enough to one to find out i dont know much. As far as i can work out they seem to be fresh corpses, which means they have retained muscles and better motor functions. However, as my experience goes, they are not as fast as made out to be in movies. They still lack coordination and cant manage a full sprint, but can run as fast as an average joe (doesnt work out, works in an office etc). They are bloody scary to come against, as they are easy to mistake as a survivor from a distance, and are more aware of surroundings. (eyesight and hearing is not as dumbed as regular zeds.)
but, i thought zeds hearing was used mor when they,re dead, and also im tired of people saying that zeds are like superhuman, because they would be less than human according to the definition of a zed, because they will have rotting flesh, but, think about this, what if you came in contact with that one olympic sprinter guy, zombified, then you'd be screwed
I like to think of runners, akin to an animal overcome by rabies. Not the foaming at the mouth (cause thats lock jaw anyway) but the virus enflames the spinal cord and brain causeing insanity, violent behavior etc... and being as the subject hasn't yet died they are technically not zombified yet and retain all there previous motor skills. however, rabies usually makes the animal docile to begin with but in my experience runners are never docile...
My theory is very close to yours Jona.

I have seen rabies footage at Ohio state university when I was traveling which would seem to disagree with the docile rabies statement though... these dogs were agro!
Well that's just what I've heard...
Like if a raccoon were to contract rabies it would more docile to begin with.
Then some stupid person would get close to it and sooner or latter the raccoon would go nuts.
once again, this is just hearsay...
the basic def of zombies is they are dead, so their muscle is deteriorating, and so therefore cant run or jump or climb, just shuffle and crawl, if that. idk if their brain is still alive, i guess somewhat intelligent, because they are still human, but if they hunted at night, how would they see? this is just what i think, not what i know.
