Shot in the head - efficient but not necesarilly necesary

I'm bringing a new aspect into discussion. Sure, a shot in the head is a very efficient and cool way to eliminate a zombie, but is it really necesary? Is it really politicaly correct? I'm thinking of other alternatives to remove the threat of zombies. As one may observe in the picture below (I apologize for that, I'm not the best drawer), wich represents a zombie's bone structure if one was not clear about that, there is a certain number of weak points.
Moving is a mechanics related thing. Remove one "wheel" and the whole structure falls apart. And now let us bring the picture into discussion again.

A - the skull
Protector of Allmighty Brain.
Kill the brain, kill the zombie.

B - the jaw, or how I like to call it, the mandibulae
Used for biting.
It can be disabeled with a powerfull kick, even with a punch sometimes. Disable the biting mechanism and the zombie will not be able to bite you, wouldn't he (or wouldn't it, I'm not sure wich pronoun is more acurate in this particular situation)? Ofcourse, there's allways the danger of the zombie drooling on you and you can get infected, so beware of that.

C - the spine
Hold the hole thing together.
Brake one vertebrae and the zombie won't be able to move vary fast or even not at all. It is is recomended, though not vary valliant, to aply the vertebrae kick when the zombie is not looking.

D - that bone I don't know what it's called
Holds the spine and the legs together.
Brake it and the zombie won't be able to use its/his/hers spine nor its/his/hers legs. It's hard though to aply a perfect bone crushing kick so i wouldn't recomend this to begginers.

E - that bone on the leg, the big one
I actually don't really know what that bone does.
Aply a powerfull kick and it will break. The zombie will still be able to move but it will do it in a very slow and funny way, giveing you time to flee or to aply another deadly kick.

F - the rotulae
Keeps the big bone and the little leg bones together.
You can disable it even with your own foot, just kick it hard enough. It won't kill the zombie but it will make it/him/her slower.

G - the leg's little bones or what they are called
Tricky bones, their function being somehow related to walking.
These bones are cheecky bastards, you have to break both of them to make a zombie stop walking. I don't recomend this at all, I allways avoid this kind of kicks becouse there are a lot of things that can go wrong and we don't want things to go wrong, do we?

So remember, it's all mechanics.

D- Pelvis/Hips
E- Femur... you would have a better shot taking out a knee.... or causing a compounding fracture to the Fibia (shin bone, compound fracture is where the bone sticks through the skin)

G- Not sure what you are talking about.... are you thinking of Ligaments and/or Tendons... leg bones consist of Femur (thigh), Patella (knee cap) Tibia, Fibia (Shin), and then you have the various ankle bones.

With the brain, I should think that very few parts of the brain would work, ergo, a headshot may not eleminate a zombie, if it dosent create enough trauma... when attacking a zed, I would suggest striking agaisnt the base of the skull, this takes out the Cerebellum or Brainstem (Medulla Oblongata, Pons, Midbrain, and upper spinal cord) which may render a zed incapable more efficently than just a bullet to the brain...

Excellent post
G - fr. rotule, lat. rotula
I don't know the english word but might be that knee cap becouse it's part of the knee.
ill look it up... sounds more like muscles...terms like lat. and fr. ... ill look into it later
Actually fr. and lat. means french and latin. I'm pretty sure it's the knee cap becouse I'm refearing to it as being a bone, not ligaments or muscle. It's that bone that you injure and never play football again, spend all your life bragging about how good you were at it and beat your wife as often as oportunity reveals itself.
see, i thought lat...was referring to "Lateral" meaning "To the side" as it concerns anatomical positioning... FR, i figured it was something i forgot, lol... yeah, you probably are referring to hte knee cap... im going to go be quiet and stand in a corner
I like your array of killing methods.
Nice to hear someone talk about other ways besides "destroying the brain".
After all, I'm sure It works fine and dandy, but It could really get old.
When your living In a stressed-out zombie apocalypse- You need to change it up a little.

Nice post. ;)
If you think about it. You're not trying to incapcitate it. You're tryng to "end" it. What's the point of disabling a zombie, if its still "alive"?

You have to eliminate the threat.

Let God sort them out.
It's funny you're saying that, "Let God sort them out".
Neca eos omnes. Deus suos agnoscet.

"Incapacitateing" a zombie makes it easier to kill. What if you don't have a proper weapon at hand to destroy the brain? Disable him first and then you'll have the time to slowlly chop off his head with a spoon.
Because people will be a little too busy to keep well manicured lawns and and the Parks an Rec' department won't be maintaining local parks.
Many of these areas will become overgrown with grass and weeds reaching you knees hips or even higher.
A disabled zombie is a crawling zombie. So now instead of scanning an area for Z's you have to quite literaly 'Beat the Bushes'.

In a one on one, sure it's easier. But when you are fighting multiples. Your eyes will stay focused on the upright ones as the maimed ones crawl up and bite you on the freakin' toe thus ending you zombie fighting carrer.
What on earth would one look for in the local park? There are no guns, supplies or anything else one would need to survive there.

"Surviver's journal page 56
It's been 87 days since the incident. Today i think I'll go for a walk in the park, through the overgrown grass where I can't see shit."

Come on!
At First I was going to answer back with a snide remark.

But then I thought, no, we are the last of the human race. If we don't learn together we will all die together.

Why on Earth would I go into a park?

It has only been 87 days for you, so you still might be thinking of a park as purely recreational.

I am thinking long term. It may be years until we get a grasp on the problem. Hell, we may never get it under control in my lifetime, but I plan on staying alive long after those who live off the fruits of a fallen society have been eatten or eat a bullet themselves.

A park is a place of renewable SURVIVAL resources.

Stores will go empty, and because they are EASY there will be a run on them and you may find yourself fighting more Humans than Z's obtaining supplies there.

All such places will be sacked.

When it is all gone, or a group has actually taken over the building and will kill anyone or anything coming near it. What do you do?

The Park has water. Since the tap is no longer working.

The gas is off, The park has wood for fires (Cookin, Warmth)
(Many Household items have been chemicaly treated, with preservatives, and herbicides to reduce the chance of rot and prolong their life. burning in am inclosed area releases harmful and toxic fumes. Thats one of the reasons you crawl out of a burnig house)

Water lures in Water fowl. Quite tasty.
Feral dogs and cats. Also tasty.
Trees, building material.
The list is really quite long.

Yeah, it is hard. But the days of going to the store and getting what we need is over.
Accidental fires have destroyed alot of the buildings. People trying to warm themselves, then the building catches on fire, then the whole block, in some instance whole towns.
The Fire dept isn't coming. Where do you run to avoid burning to death?
Well, there is that pond in the Park.

Everything we do is connected. People who didn't understand that are the ones who started this whole mess.

If we leave Zombie parts lying around, they have the ability to come back later and bite us on the ass.
Well, you really no how to putt it in a different angle. You have my admiration.
I never thought on long term effects and what you are saying makes a lot of sense. Lets just hope it won't take years to fix the z-problem.
