Permalink Reply by Jericho Syndrome on April 17, 2011 at 5:41pm hey a 10 round mag to easily swap when you run out, or around a basic 8 round that you have to reload ONE BY ONE....
Permalink Reply by Wildman Brown on April 17, 2011 at 6:06pm Since it's only going to be useful inside 50 meters, I'd rather have a SAIGA in .410 rather than 12 gauge. Lighter recoil would allow for faster follow up shots.

Permalink Reply by Wildman Brown on April 17, 2011 at 9:06am Have any of you ever actually fired a shotgun with slugs? It kicks like a mule, you have to recover from the recoil, then bring the weapon back on target.
A 12 gauge shotgun has pretty much the largest bore available on the commercial market. Compare that to an AR chambered in 5.56, with a bore about the same as a .22. The kick is minimal, can be handled by almost anyone, and target transition is quick, plus the weapon is light as long as you don't hang a bunch of shit off it.
What benefit does a shotgun really have?
Permalink Reply by Ron Salter on April 17, 2011 at 5:24pm Yea, I fire my shotgun every weekend.
The advantage the shotgun has is that they are available in most countries. Step outside the US and you are going to have a lot of trouble finding an AR. or any other assault based weapon.
A DB Shotty requires an absolute minimum of maintenance too, even a non-gun person can look after one.
