(small) Children during the Z apoc.

I think that having (small) children in your group is a thing that makes your survival very unsure. This because childeren tend to scream, and stuff like that. I think they don't get the situation that is happening. They may see it as one big game. Also I can't see myself running back to safe a young child. I think that they are slowing me and the group down. As much as I like children, this is about survival. And the fraze is 'survival of the fittest'. Maybe when they are older like above the 15 they can be usefull, but every age under that... Lose them. Does anyone else have an other idea about this, or am I just a cruel bitch?

kids can be an issue, but i think if they're just old enough, as young as 5 they'll grasp the situation and mature much faster than you'd imagine. Don't shield them from what's going on, they're not stupid. Let them feel what is going, beyond what is being explained to them. Kids who grow up in a bad time can handle things better than adults who experienced better times. I think kids older than 6 or 7 can be kept around if they show they're able to act mature and grasp the situation. Back in the day kids did grow up fast- this is a time that is before most of us, in the great American pioneer days over a century ago- boys as young as 12 can be counted on like an adult. Some places around the world where life is tough and people die quickly and needlessly children that do survive mature at a very young age, they act like adults long before they are supposed to be one- as young as 8. Some parts of China, few areas of Europe, many part of Africa are still like that. I think the end of the world is a serious enough change to allow young children to grow up in a tough environment, where they're not immersed with video games or other technology, where they learn what they do might get someone they love killed, and they're not pampered like many of us were while going up.

I get where your coming from. but I have gone over the plan with my whole family they know the deal... even the young ones. If we let the young ones die then if the Z-poc ends human civilization will be no more.

I think that I would leave my parents because they would be holding me back aha, but that's just my parents, others wouldn't because they're parents may be helpful.

Kids understand a serious situation. If the adults are calm and restrained, then the kids will follow. If you teach the kids how the Z's move and kill, they will be prepared. Kids are little, they can get into safe places adults can't.

If you remember correctly, it was LITTLE kids who'd walk up to the G.I.'s in Vietnam with booby traps, either rigged on them (Suicide missions) or to drop them nearby to bomb the shit out of the Americans.

Kids can be tough, unforgiving little bastards.

Kids don't always think of the situation the way you describe they might. Kids 10 and up, even younger, if they had it explained instead of HIDDEN from them like they were idiots, would be able to survive. adults underestimate the power of children and how they can understand something but what's keeping them back is that the parents think that they can't take it or something. so 15 and up is too high. A 13 year old kid is old enough to fully understand the situation and kill a man if he or she had too. You'd be surprized what a kid can do.

no way I could keep track and protect a kid, if someone else in anoher group wanted to, peachy, I'd give the kid to them
