So there seem to be lots of people who want to tell me that the zombies are already among us. That the recent news stories indicate there are actual zombies out there, eating people, and creating more of their kind. They tell me the "government" is suppressing evidence, and that they won't tell us anything of value until it is too late. That we are more or less left to our own devices to determine when to take action. At least some of these people apparently own firearms, of which they seem extremely fond. I see from the rest of the "news", that we don't talk about here, that shooting somebody just because they scare you will get you a ticket to the monkey house to play volleyball for the rest of your life.
So. as thinking, responsible, human beings, let me ask, "At what point do you intend to open fire?" How do you know if the person walking towards you is undead, as opposed to say a disoriented wino, or a person with a disability or an injury? Do they need to be an actual zombie before you kill them, or just appear "zombie like"? What constitutes a threat worth shooting someone?
Now, let's keep in mind you can't afford to get scratched or bitten. Even a minor wound inflicted by a zombie would seem to guarantee infection and death. You have to maintain at least some distance. The chances are you aren't going to get a chance at a conversation. Also keep in mind that going in front of a judge saying "I thought he was a zombie," after you just smoked Harry the Homeless guy, is going to get you laughed at before they send you off for a life of savage man love in a state institution. Zombies are unlikely to threaten you, brandish a weapon, our otherwise give you excuse under existing law for the use of deadly force. So at what point do you shoot somebody, or bust them in the head with your tire iron, or whatever?
I am not trying to be a butthead here, but these are these questions that make the difference between a legitimate defense of one's life, and appearing on the news as another deluded jackass of a nutcase who is going to the slam for the rest of his life. If we consider any of this "real", it is my thought that if anyone is actually planning on picking up a gun they should have a pretty clear idea on what they intend to do with it, but I don't seem to hear much about that.
Your thoughts would be appreciated.
okay continuing from where we left off on the other page DR, you want one movie that will work every time, in a variety of situations, against the large array of possible zombies that exist. disable that unnone threat, in the simplest way possible with minimum exposure. so would i but just as you can't use a flat head screw driver on a Philips head screw, no one move is going ot universally work. this is the real world and nothing is ever black and white. now you want a run down of what a zombie is and what its capability's are, truth is until they actually rise we're never going to know for certain. how ever there are certain Archetype we can look too. there's the original Romero undead zombie, the 28 days later fast living zombies -aka the rage zombies, and finally even though not technically zombies for sake of the current augment, the other Romero villains which are simple normal people who through some contractible means are driven homicidally crazy. lets begin this with the original that started all this the undead zombie.(more widely known as the modern zombie) for characterizing this zombie i always liked the Matt Mogk zombie research society definition. the modern zombie is a relentlessly aggressive, reanimated human corpse driven by a biological infection. that's is the basic or the modern or shall we say true zombie. you can break this definition down into its three main characteristics it is a reanimated human copse, it is relentlessly aggressive, and its is biologically infected and infectious. the book everything you ever wanted to know about zombies does a great job of going to great detail about that defines a zombie how zombies functions might work, the reality of zombies actually a curing. they also defined the living zombie and many more things. so much in fact i can not go into detail about it here. i suggest you pick up a copy of it today. how ever the one thing it lacks is an actually zombie combat instruction. luckily another book the zombie combat manually, like its name states is nothing but how to combat the undead with everything from swords and knives to like you wanted, hand to hand. now going into this i had every intention to go into great detail about zombies here then i remembered all this work has already been done, there is no reason to reinvent the wheel. a wise man learns from others but trusts himself. that being said i will now leave you with exerts pages from both "everything you ever wanted to know about zombies" and the "zombie combat manual" which i again suggest anyone serous about zombies pick up a copy of both.
all that being said if you still want a universal approach for dealing with zombies then here it is, don't. avoid at all costs. the greatest victory is the battle not fought. don't risk it don't be a hero, stay hidden, don't engage unless absolutely necessary. thats the best advice i can give about dealing with zombies.
Yep,becomes clear this needs to go to another venue,Stay tuned.
