Hello every one saint .357 here with another strange idea. now we all know that after the z-poc finding power is going to be a bitch. with power grids most likely unmanned and non operation big ticket items will be lost. unless you have a generator which I'm sure most of us do. i know i got mine ready and waiting in the wings. even then finding fuel for it will be difficult and they make noise which with zombies crawling around is a very bad thing. now i think most of know that we'll also be on the move. no way your humping even the smallest of generators over rough terrain. still even if your taking with you what you can carry on your back its likely you'll have small things that will require power.

Radios,

walky talky's,

gps,

labtops,

night vision goggles,

holographic scopes for your rifles,

and many other small devices you will need or may want with you during the zpoc.

all these things will need to have their batteries recharged and how will you do it. well I've been toying around with the idea of incorporating some small flexible solar panel's into my clothing, like on the back of my tack vest, or maybe into this. my homemade Gorget/shoulder armor.

so what do you think of this idea for charging small battery power devices?

There are solar chargers on the market that are flexible and foldible. I say integrate them into the top flap of your backpack or secure them to the roof of your B.O.V. I'll be avoiding adding metal to my clothing and pack when I want to be mobile.
even smaller ones for like the arms or such http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/travelpower/b1a6/
good thinking.

First off, never put anything you don't want broken on something thats meant to take damage. Now, If you want to put a solar panel on something, put it on your head. Make a hat out of it. Your head is the highest point on you body so more sunlight will hit it and your head is the one thing you want damaged the least, besides your nuts. Think of it this way, any sunlight that doesn't hit your face the solar panel absorbs.

There will be no more jokes about tinfoil hats. the jokes will be about solarfoil hats LOL
hey when you have power and they don't we'll see who's laughing. : D

the guy who shot the hat off thinking its a ridiculous target practice bit......

hardy har har.

hmm the hat idea is a pretty good one, but just for added measure i think ill add some to my shoulder armor, like prime said there are solar cells that are film like. very hard to damage, i'm not saying its impossible but its harder then say the glass like solar cells. also the armors not really meant to take damage other then the occasional zombie bite.

also prime this armor actually gives me free range of motion and is so light a barely feel it while being strong enough to stop a zombie bite. if you check out my video of me testing out my pyro glove you'll notice I'm actually wearing this over a sweatshirt.

Still, if you had to be hit some where, where would it be? Your head or say, your stomach? Its just natural to protect your head over any other part of you body so anything on it will be protected by you more then it would be on any other part of your body.
true but I'm just wondering how many solar sells i can actually fit onto a hat. because the most solar cells you have the more power they can generate. so i will probably use the hat idea but ill also put some on my shoulder for added power.
I'm not saying don't do it. Hell, if had solar panel armor, I'd use it. I'm just saying if you had to put one some where, your head would probably be your best option.
