There are certain laws of physics that must be "generally" followed when dealing with and assuming the nature of the beast. To do other wise will get you killed quickly.

The law of physics as it pertains to the living dead are as follows...

1. To be part of the living dead, you have to be dead.

2. To be part of the living dead, you have to be walking around, AFTER DEATH.

3. To become infected with any specific virus that may cause "Zombification", one must be aflicted with a) an alien space gas, b) a mutated virus, or c) one must be bitten or scratched by a zombie, depending on the virus.

4. Body fluids must absorb the virus in order to contract the virus. In all instances, the virus kills the host body. Nobody survives the virus.

5. People who stop to question what exactly a runner is, will usually get bitten by one.

6. Too much firepower or too little firepower is better than no firepower.

7. You are not Rambo, robocop, superman, batman, Bruce Lee or Chuck Norris...Stop acting like it.

8. A well placed kick to a Zombies head will usually get your leg bitten off...

9. Your "For Display Only" swords, will fall apart after the first zombie, so make it count...

10. If you don't have your own weapons cache at home, good luck getting to that tank on that military base twenty miles away...actually, good luck getting out of your own home...

11. When attempting to survive in groups, make sure you don't team up with any would be serial killers, they don't like to kill the dead, just make you one of them...

12. Alcohol is cool and all, but really, it does you no real good inside your body. Using rubbing alcohol will serve the same for all intensive purposes...Vodka, will just make you look like a zombie...

13. Generally, if someone is knocking on the door, they are alive. Zombies don't knock...

14. Any genious who decides driving a nail in a baseball bat is productive...shoot that guy...by driving that nail into that bat, you've just weakened the integrity of the bat, and created a way for that bat to get stuck in a zombies head...

15. Any person wearing metal armor of any sort is now called a dinner bell, shoot that guy too....

16. .............

I guess this has all been settled. This next paragraph was copy and pasted from the timeline. It is what the site is based upon.

Present Day

The Campion Virus has reached its final mutation. The positive is that the virus is only transferable by bite, it is no longer an airborne virus. The negative is that the virus will , inevitably, take over the body and cause zombism. Take over of the body by the Campion Virus does not always result in death, meaning that a living person infected with the Campion virus can turn to a Zombie without dying. These are called Runners. They do not possess problem solving skills or the ability to communicate. They do however possess most of the physical skills they had prior to turning, meaning they can run in most cases. Those individuals who turn after death are slow moving zombies. Present day survivors have spread out across the globe.
I understand your point Optimus, but the timeline does leave room for interpretation, which is a good thing.

Yes, it does say runners turn BEFORE death, but that doesn't mean they don't die. but for the time they are alive, they should be easy to put down, (speed and manuverability aside), and I also agree that once killed, (without head trauma) they will rise again, only slower...due to the fact that death and lack of circulating blood starts the rigor process, and the pooling of the blood in the extremities makes for heavier limbs. It would be like strapping ankle weights to your legs and trying to run.

Again, I'm not completely debunking the idea of runners, but if you've ever read "The Zen of Zombie" you'd understand that they are the exception, not the rule.

You also bring up a good point about the RE living, ie. lickers, nemesis...etc...According to the movies, they are living creatures infected with the t-virus and have mutated. I'm not sure what the game says, because it's been almost a decade since I've played RE, RE2, RE3 or RE: Code Veronica, let alone RE:Zero, RE: Dead Aim, Outbreak or File 2. I've played them all...but can't remember anything but puzzles and zombie killing...anyway, these are monsters, not zombies. Plus, we'd be in a whole world of trouble if the campion virus mutated living tissue, because runners would no longer be runners, but they'd be lickers...screw that!
I've not read Zen of Zombie or played any of the Resident Evil Games. I suppose I'm at a bit of a disadvantage. Well, as far as I know. a head shot stops anything.

You are correct in your assumtions, mostly. the whole idea is that you as a human can perform feats that you wouldn't believe you can do, the problem is that if it hurts you stop, or if you hold your breath, you may pass out. But really, if you currently bench press 200 lbs, you could probably push 250-270 lbs but don't because of pain.

In life there are two decision making thoughts, pain or pleasure. When you try to lift something heavier than anything you've lifted before, and you strain a bit, you automatically start thinking heavy, and your muscles break down, you start to feel the pain of lifting the object. But as you stated, no nerve endings means no pain.
Your right, I'm not going to contest the idea of crippling a specified part, but chances are they will still have use of the appendage. Unless you shatter the bone, it's still functioning, we as living beings still feel pain from a hair line fracture and thus it will affect our ability to use the body part. But a hair line fracture can still support weight, hell you could have two or three hair line fractures right now and think it's only a muscle sprain or "growing pain".

But as you said, bone damage is permanent in a zombie, and high impacts to the bones can shatter them, but low impacts may not do so much damage. Be cautious when attempting any kind of physical encounter, you should aim for knees and elbows, a dislocation serves just as much disability as a shattered bone.
Number 10 is very important. I hate it how some people on this site or others think that when Z day comes around their going to have all these weapons and supplies just magically fall into their laps. That kind of thinking is going to get you and the people your trying to protect killed. My point is if you dont have the weapons or supplies before the s$#t hits the fan then your screwed!
Gonna be a lot of screwed people. Look at every natural disaster. What do you see? People expecting government to come in and help. Yeah we'll all head to the football stadium it's big the government will come and fix things. In the mean time there are assaults, rapes and gang wars in the football stadium. Now throw in what this site is based on. ZOMBIES! Yeah, some people are screwed.
lol i still think its a good bit of info, especially for non-survivalist types.
This is just common sense stuff, if your a non-survivalist type you will surely die. The base word in Survival ism is "Survival" and who does not want to survive? am i right? XD

Survivalism is a commonly used term for the preparedness strategy and subculture of individuals or groups anticipating and making preparations for future possible disruptions in local, regional, national, or international social or political order.

All of us on this site are Survivalist's
Overall, I agree with these points. However, I'm not fully with you on number 4...

While for the purposes of survival it would be wise to assume that nobody survives the virus, I would add a few caveats:

The virus does not always cause catastrophic organ failure. Or in other words, the virus itself does not have a 100% mortality rate. Due to some innate genetic trait, or a certain acquired antibody (possibly from a specific earlier strain of influenza, in the case of Campion), or some unknown biological factor, a percentage of people aren't killed by the virus's effect on the organs. Rather than infecting every cell type, in these individuals the virus only attacks selective groups of cells, one of these being brain cells. Here they have the usual effect of mutating these cells to assist in completing the virus's infection cycle and spreading the virus to additional hosts.

From what I can tell, these runners aren't killed by the infection. Instead of suffering catastrophic organ failure brought about by the destruction of their cells by the virus's propagation, they die from a lack of nutrition, another disease or infection (as the zombie virus wouldn't likely leave the immune system in good order), exposure, or other external forces (i.e. a bullet).

Also, when viruses reach pandemic proportions, there always emerge immunities. The runners are the result of a limited immunity (as explained above); they exhibit some symptoms of the infection (cerebral mutations), but not all (death). Occasionally, in such widespread cases of infection, more extensive immunities surface; immunities that might prevent the appearance of typical symptoms while still allowing for transmission of the living virus (i.e.Typhoid Mary). When dealing with a global infection set, the likelihood of such immunities emerging is much greater. It may even be possible that someone somewhere is biologically equipped to be completely immune to infection by whatever strain has swept the globe.

So all in all, I consider the generalization that "Nobody survives the virus." to be valid (as only a fraction of a percent of the population are likely to be sufficiently immune to the virus to retain their own minds when infected by the 'Zombie Virus'). To say that "In all instances, the virus kills the host body." however, is not a correct statement. It would seem to me that the runners are clear proof of that.

Sorry, I was bored and really needed to geek out over something...
