special infected? possible or just something used my video game companies?

I actively play “Left 4 Dead” and “Left 4 Dead 2”. In bothgames there are “special infected” including a Spitter [spits toxic goo thatattracts the horde], a Boomer [fat zombie that pukes on survivors decreasingvisibility as well as attracting the horde], a Smoker [has a tentacle-liketongue that wraps around survivors, incapitating them and allows the zombies toattack], a Charger [infected with a huge arm that incapitates survivor andbangs them over and over on the ground], a Jockey [midget-like thing that jumpson survivors, controlling movements], a Hunter [ninja-like infected that willpounce and shred the stomach and guts of survivors], a Witch [when startled, she’ll go after whoever spooked her and go bat shit crazy on them], and a Tank[imagine a steroid user turned zombie]. Could these creatures be a possibility inthe coming apocalypse or are they just works of fiction?

I believe it could be possible, as it would be some mutated gov. project gone wrong.

as i say with most, Everything  is possible as long the math behind it works.

Or Some scientist does some dna splicing with dna and adds Ebola to it, living ebola creature?

Imagine if this virus mutates/ is adaptable to any bacterias or viruses, it could essentially draw traits from any of these bacterias or viruses to achieve its  instinctual goals.

Now add Drugs into the mix of the virus meanwhile becoming infected.

Imagine a Rabbies infected man on crack, how do you think his crack usage would affect his now newly contracted disease.

Now just to throw more in there, lets add steroids onto his crack habit.

Visually its unlikely they  will achieve the gruesome forms as in l4d 1-2 or as in Resident evil, they would retain most human features, unless the virus adapts a way to mutate the bone itself..

As a last note, i know quite a few here whom would say its a scientific impossibility

I think anyone that brings up "scientific impossibility" should really think some about what they are doing on this site, as soon as you talk about zombies you throw science out the window. I hold an issue with the crack addicted steroid user, I don't think some one on crack will have enough time to shoot steroids and go to the gym. I also don't think there would be "special infected" without the help of government testing or something similar. In my belief the virus would affect everyone the same, so there wouldn't be any zombies that are different from the rest. Everyone would retain their strength from prezombification.
crack users can be anyone. there are people who are body builders and are on steroids and meth. it doesnt matter what your preference is and what you do. drug users can be anyone. and as for the scientific impossibility, i agree with some sort of governmental help.
I love the idea. Always hated how Resident Evil never used its real nasties in the movies. And it certainly adds to the horror of survival. And, as I always say, the rules come from the author so, you go girl!
I think it is possible. viruses affect everyone differently. Therefor zombies are going to be different. But i think some of the characters in L4D 1 and 2 would never happen. A boomer i think is probably the most likely. Minus the affects of his puke. But other then the boomer no. Unless of course your Mark Brooks and think the undead can swing katanas.
lmfao.
special infected are infected that went under extreme mutation when becoming a zombie so we're basically fucked.
I think its possible that there could be so called "Special Infected". From my experience in the medical field I don't believe it will be like what you see in video games though. I think you'll see people who were either infected or sick with some other sort of disease process before had change differently. I believe that there will be lots of people that simply die once infected. I don't believe you'll see extreme mutation such as zombies with giant limbs, or spitting toxic goo. I believe you'll see diseases like aids, hepatitis, and things like that cause some sort of mutation to the disease process.
Never played it but I love it 
