Having the biggest gun, the most ammo and a stockpile of food and equipment will only get you so far. Geography and your place of living can determine if you will die or survive, I live in a small town in northern Ohio, on the coast of Lake Erie, although it's not a big town, it still has a big population, making it tempting to leave rather than sticking around. My plan of escape would either be to head to our small boat dock just down the street and get a boat and flee towards western Ohio or to take the railroad tracks, seeing as for the most part on either side of the tracks is a huge ditch, followed by a steep incline of gravel to the rails, making it difficult terrain for a zombie to scale. Not to mention, woods surround both sides, standing away from the tracks at about 20-25 feet.

thats a good plan but i think there is a fatal flaw there and thats geting a boat are sure you can get a boat i mean how do you plan on starting it what if the keys arent in there
The boat was just an idea, I'm more likely going to head for the railroad tracks, they will take you anywhere you want to go, not to mention that inside, on the second floor of a railroad car is a pretty safe area to rest, I don't know of any zombie that can climb a ladder.
I would think about either heading north or to the mountains.
