The Armed Forces Counterattack...What Would It Be, If It Be At All?!
Let's face it, in the case that the government fights proper and is able to get a foothold and over time is prepared for a counterattack
Personally, I do believe that Russian Ground Forces would be able to hold the line in Asia, our only problem is massive border, we can't hold all of it. But what we lack in proper military prowess we gain in mass quantities, Himalaya equivilant amount of arms left over from Soviet Union
But do you disagree, do you think that United States, Russia or any country for that matter, could rally a proper military counter-offensive against zombie horde?

That is a difficult one to answer- Imo Its to much land to cover, not many choke point areas worldwide.
Italy,spain,mexico, Some Asian countries, Scandinavia etc
if you were able to mount a defense/ defensive wall in those areas you could save it.
But its hard to predict something that would be so undefinable like a zombie epidemic.
It all depends where it all started, how fast it spread, did it start in more than one area, do those areas have good infrastructure, do civilians own arms etc?

I believe a Zpoc would happen quickly and in more then epidemic proportions. Any recovery will be slow and calculated.

Certain areas could be held for a while, although few major cities with high population density would be nearly impossible to secure and under control. But after time the numbers would begin to run in the favor of the undead, and any chance to hold large areas of land would dwindle into the low single digit percentages in my opinion. Although, if you mass an entire army for a single large area, or for a few smaller areas, it could be possible. But then factors in available amount of ammo in any given area, amount used over long periods of time, amount of food for such a large group of people, etc.
I think it would be much safer to have medium/large sized militias spread out in many areas, and instead of trying to defend large areas in the beginning, organize a strong armed takeover of areas. Once a semi definite average of zombies were established you could compensate with what you have.
Just my two cents anyways.
