Elevator
Not in an elevator, but in a building that has no stairs, but only an elevator. Go on a random floor, and I'm damn sure the zombies won't be able to work an elevator, and if they can, I don't think they would get the correct floor. It is a 1/How ever many floor there are! So take my advice, so when Z-Day hits, you won't die!

On top of or on at least the second floor of a house.
Anywhere but under the bed...or under the blankets...it may fool the monster in the closet, but even without any higher brain functions, it won't fool zombies.
A greenhouse? Lol terrible idea, no but I think a good spot would be the top of the sears tower
Can you say "Sunburn"?
Where I work we have a large parking garage with only two vehicle exits and two pedestrian openings. The walls around the floors are just shy of six feet high, two feet thick and made of reenforced concrete. We have 8000 pound concrete jersey barriers that are around eight feet high and forklifts to move them. The building is four stories so there is plenty of room to house a few hundred people and can set up basic facilities (medical, santation, sleeping quarters, armory, etc.). One of the pedestrian entryways is a second floor fenced in catwalk that goes across the road and attaches to a fenced in stair tower that can be blocked off at the bottom. There are multiple above ground fuel tanks in the area as well as generators and solar batteries. Buildings in that area have infrared cameras with motion sensor cabilities and a zoom that can let me see your eyelashes at half a mile. We also have access to a large supply of weapons and ammo (think M2s, 240Bs, 249s, MK19s, AT4s, Javalins, etc) and food.
wow! i didn't know you worked for black mesa!
Oh, and survivor, I lol at your MCU-2 gas mask. The M50s are sooo mcuh more comfy and user friendly
MCU-2 gas mask looks cooler though
You, sir, have that brain of a Genius in an Apple computer store.

Design over usability. I like that.

Cooler has nothing to do with it. Its the ability of being able to fire your weapon whilst wearing it. Firing a rifle is a pain in the ass with the MCU-2 since you have to cant the rifle to a wierd angle and turn your head. It's far easier to use the M50s and are more comfortable to wear for long periods of time, seeing as it lighter. Plus you dont need to worry abut the big ass aluminum filter banging into shit and getting hung up if you're in a narrow, cluttered environment environment. Oh and the splash lense can be swapped out with a clear one as well, and the drinking tube is stowed so it doesnt get all nasty too. Trust me, theres a reason why we (the air force) are going to these.
Office buildings. The more floors the better. Vending machines galore to feed off of and unlimited HVAC system to use as an escape route(s). Dropping desks on zeds sounds like a fun passtime!
Not all HAVC is man sized so you may just end up getting trapped, or you could come out 6 floors up and fall to your death. Just an observation. :p
