Obviously there are the book by Max Brookes but I think these are far better. Add your own favourite zombie fiction.
They should be on the top of your list!
J.L.Bourne has some of the best writing I have had the pleasure of reading. Great stuff. He sent me a pic of his editing area, and all he has is two laptops sitting on a foldout table. It was funny because mine is the same way. Great work needs only a writting tool and your mind.
I'm currently reading the sequel "Day by Day Armageddon" for the third time.  He has a third book in the works right now, too.

World War Z is at the top of my list, hands down.

I've ready Day by Day, but didn't know there was a a sequel. I'll have to pick that up.

Forest of Hands and Teeth is a pretty good book series

for a bonus I'm still reading Pride Prejudice and Zombies just for the laughs but i think ill go with Day By Day Armageddon after i look it up

Another series that I like is by David Wellington: "Monster Island", "Monster Nation", and "Monster Planet".  A little more supernatural than I like in my zombie stories but still good books.
