Check the movie something Automaton. One guy tries at the end and fails miserably.

 

Wasn't really the greatest movie either.

Ooooh yeah automaton transfusion I think, it was a bad movie, also in Dawn of the Dead(remake) someone gets freakin chainsawed on accident

Several reasons a chainsaw is a bad bad fucking idea.

 

1. I think this should be the most obvious, but a chainsaw doesn't give you much distance from the zombie.

2. Its going to make a big mess, and probably spray you with infected blood.

3. Once your engaged in attacking one zombie, chances are your not going to be able to quickly attack another one.

4. Its a lot of weight to carry, that doesn't really buy much positive for itself. Im not a fan of melee weapons but a good crowbar would come in much more useful(breaking into abandoned buildings and homes).

5. If have to put gas in it, and thats fuel that could be used for a vehicle to transport your ass.

Yeah, also ears tht the chain could break off if someone tried it, if it breaks off with the chainsaw still on it's capable of fying off and badly injure the user

I was working as a medic in northern Florida and saw that happen to a guy. The chain broke, and snapped the guard off. On its second spin it flew off hitting him in the face, lacerating him very badly across the bridge of the nose, lips, and neck nearly hitting a carotid artery. It also knocked out several teeth, and cracked the frontal portion of his mandible.

i think i'll stick to axes and crowbars against zombies, and axes, and powers saws for cutting stuff.

Like I said in my early post on this thread. Im not a big fan of the idea of melee weapons, but a crowbar as more uses that you can count. I have an idea for making a entry tool that would come in handy for most all of the situations you might face. If I make it I'll post some pics.

Yeah and u have a rele good point on the chainsaw, I made this post cause ppl always think "oh look a zombie horde!, I'm going to get the chainsaw! What's the worst that could happen!?"
ill stick with the crowbar, I'll also like to c tht pic, c there should be the perfect melee weapon, something tht u can hack zombies with ease, and something tht could be a handy tool, something like the "lobo" from WWZ

I wont get into the argument of melee weapons. I dont think allowing a walker to get that close to you would be a good idea.
