The Swine Flu!!!! Ahh!!! The start of a real zombie outbreak? :0

Ahhhh!

So, you've probably heard about the 'Swine Flu' thing that's going around.

Is it just me, or dose the whole arodeal remind you of a typical beginning of a zombie story?

Hmmm, just a thought I had. Does anyone agree with me?

Here's an artical about it from CNN:

hmmm...

the part of them changing the name of the flu, almost matches.
the rapid rate of the infection, almost matches.

hmmmm....

you might be right deux, but I think we're exaggerating here
This virus is similar to the one that killed over a million people last century. Lucky for us improvements in sanitation, hygiene, medicine and global travel(better world wide viral immunity of global population) should make this time around a whole lot less disastrous.

I've posted this elsewhere, I hope it helps people understand a bit better.

The name, "swine flu" is misleading. The virus itself is similar to a virus in pigs which affects the lungs as a flu. As with the Avian influenza, the virus(being airborne) mutated and infected a human with flu like symptoms. As with most viruses(note HIV etc.), "swine flu" cannot be controlled with drugs. In the case of the common flu, doctors often prescribe antibiotics to combat bacterial infections that become present as the flu virus ties up the immune system. The difference between this flu and every other flu is that it is more resistant to the bodies natural immune system which means that if you contract it you will find it harder to shake and get sicker than you would with most other flus.

The virus will become less dangerous as people in the community begin to build up a resistance to the virus(as with avian flu). Luckily, North America is coming into it's warmer season which is not the best climate for viruses.

Personally, I believe you have nothing to fear from this "pandemic"(scoff!) if you practice good hygiene, wash your hands before you eat or prepare food and after you visit the bathroom. Avoid contact with sick people where possible and eat well.

i agree the swine flu could evole like the super flu did into the campion virus and there is no vacseen that is a is fully afective aginst the swine flu
once more the question stands........Lost (or Lek for that matter) is there something you wanna tell us?????
ehh I find it pretty implausible for swine flu to have any relation to a zombie outbreak given swine flu is just a respiratory infection. I feel like if a zombie like outbreak was to occur it would be caused by some type of mutation of a viral neuroinvasive disease that would attack the brain and brain stem. For example, if a virus like rabies or bovine spongiform encephalopathy (mad cow disease) mutated and spread to humans. Since rabies can be spread by saliva I feel like that would be the best bet on a mutation causing a zombie like outbreak. Currently rabies can easily be cured and has a long period in progression in the human body. However if this virus mutated due to some other virus or factor causing it to be antibiotic resistant like some forms of staph infection. The rabies virus causes flu like symptoms for two to twelve weeks followed by slight or partial paralysis, cerebral dysfunction, anxiety, insomnia, confusion, agitation, abnormal behavior, paranoia, terror, hallucinations, progressing to delirium. (Delirium is an acute and debilitating decline in attention-focus, perception, and cognition that produces an altered form of semi-consciousness). So basically if the virus attacked the brain enough to leave the victim in this horrible state without killing them and evolved enough to try to spread by saliva perhaps it could alter the brain enough to create a zombie like stage. Luckily, rabies does cause slight or partial paralysis which would most likely point to the slow zombie or zombies in wheelchairs haha. I feel like this would most likely be the cause of a zombie outbreak. For the factor that causes the virus to mutate, most likely it will be some sort of military or government research in which they are the ones to alter the virus which grows out of control. But then again, rabies does cause up to twelve weeks of flu like symptoms. dun dun dun, so I guess we will find out next spring lol.
According to my doctor, I have just gotten over a case of swine flu. I have had no desire for human flesh or brains, other than what I craved before the flu. It took a lot of time to kick, but at no time was I zombie-like at all. So I would say definitely "No" to the question of whether or not it is the "Z-pandemic". H1N1 sux donkey balls, but won't bite them.
I thought the same...
hmmm I hope in 2012 that the end of the world is Zombies, atleast then we have a fighting chance.
that sounds fun and terrifying plowing down zombies an running from zombies
Who ever said 2012 will be the end, the literal translation is new beginnings or an era of change
