i was pondering on the use of flashbangs for anti-zombie tactics. seeing as how zombies rely more and sight and hearing than anything, it made sense (to me anyway) that since flashbangs affect these two senses, that they could buy you vital seconds in order to escape, reload, attack, etc.

wat do you guys think about this?

p.s. wasn't sure this was the best category, but o'well lol.

In my totally nonprofessional opinion, I don't think flashbangs would be too helpful. Zombies aren't entirely sight oriented creatures like we are, they rely on all senses equally. I've seen a few whose eyes were completely rotted out, since theyre dead and all, and they still were able to do what zombies do.

Test it, but I sure as hell ain't gonna volunteer for it. xD
I don't think it would disorient them. It might draw them off with the noise and lights.
I suppose it would depend on what you have access to.
IDK know it sounds good. Take out the main hunting senses and yes you could probably put them in a daze. this sounds like a real good idea! i have one question however. Ive never heard one in real life but does it make noise? and if so wouldnt that attract more zombies in the outlying are to converge on your position? I mean that would still probably leav you enough time to reload but if you dont have an escape ready then youll just reaload to take on another 5-10 zombies.
Yes, as its name implies, it makes a Flash-Bang lol. A large flash, blinding anything, and a loud bang deafening anything in range for up to 15 seconds on a human, it is the main counter-terrorism room clearing device used by the British SAS.
I would probably choose a smoke bomb over the flash bang as long as I wasn't in the middle of all the smoke.
Flashbangs don't affect zombies, because they rely just as much on hearing and smell as vision.
that means they would only be able to rely on smell, flashbangs deafen and blind opponents, hence the name flash (bright light) bang (loud noise) lol. and without either of those two main senses, they would fumble and bumble into buildings, trees, trip over small objects, etc.
well mabe it could work, but they used smell as well, yes iam sure it would daze them for a second or so but not much affect, also you could flash-bang your self as well, then you would be fucked.all so your could mb WILL bring more zombies to the area
But also flash-bangs hold a lot of gunpowder, when they explode it will powder a whole room with left over so it might take out smell.
i do thik this is the rite catgory for this questin. and i think there senses are all equly mached. and i agree that flashbangs would be somewhat efective to confuse them and distract them so as you said reload, escpe, attack etc.
yeah, because even if it stunned/confused them for even a few seconds, thats all you need to gain a tactical advantage. and it can be used on a group of them, as it is a counter-squad room clearer. and if you you need a last resort CQB weapon, if you can stuff it into a zombies mouth and pull the pin, say goodbye to Mister Zed!
