List any common misconceptions that have been stated about what to do during an outbreak and the reason why this is not a good idea.

Gun Shops: not a good idea, they will be first place a scared and unprepared civilian will turn to, and they will most likely end up killing someone for a weapon. That's if the owner hasn't already barricaded the door to stop any looters or zombies.

Now it's your turn.

dont go out side unless its abosoutly needed.
Malls, Churches, etc.: Also a bad idea. Avoid any place where uninfected, uninformed civilians will gather to seek comfort and refuge. These are exactly the places that will attract zombies.
Safety in Numbers: Chances are that if you go around picking up every survivor you see just to have superior numbers, your going to attract a lot of unwanted attention from zombies and raiders. It's also possible your going to pick up the wrong unhinged and unmedicated maniac with a gun. Best to stick in groups of threes or fours.
but if their slow moving zombies couldn't you just out run them with a group of like 40 people and kill the Z's along the way?
Yes, but you are forgetting that resources aren't unlimited and at hand, they would also have to stop to rest and sleep. Even if they took shifts on look out you would still have to stop. Best to stick to small groups that barricade themselves or hide in small spaces when resting and sleeping. A small group also means that fewer resources have to be gathered, and that if their is a large amount of food/water ect. found it will last longer.
goiin outside b4 daytime... Wait until the sun comes out for light... U might run outta batteries
Hospitals may be a bad place as well. Most of them have high concentrations of people normally and there's a good chance that those numbers would be even higher as people searched out some kind of treatment for the infection.

Sticking to smaller private practices and clinics spread out in the suburbs or country side would be far more advantageous for medical supplies.
Don't go into a basement or bunker. Elevation is your friend. Do not take sanctuary in a place that only has one entrance/exit. You always need a secure emergency exit.
In addition, always have a backup plan to clear the emergency exit. If the zombies surround the building, two entrances become a liability. Something quick and effective at killing a lot of zombies to clear the way such as a bomb or a moltov tossed out of a window (Preferably second floor) will prevent the second door being a piece to a bigger trap.
Agreed with no panicking (everything else too, but that especially). One of the worst moves you can make is to panic and run when there are only three or four crawlers around. You run, they follow. You scream, new ones find you. They don't have to rest after a mile or two, you do.
don`t set fire to zombies without a headshot first . a flaming corpse still walking round could cause more damage to you and your surroundings. only torch zombies as a means of destroying the proper dead zombies ..
Don't try to save someone bit or is infected. Even if the person is your mum, dad, brother boyfriend whoever. They WILL become zombies and will try to eat you.
