List any common misconceptions that have been stated about what to do during an outbreak and the reason why this is not a good idea.

Gun Shops: not a good idea, they will be first place a scared and unprepared civilian will turn to, and they will most likely end up killing someone for a weapon. That's if the owner hasn't already barricaded the door to stop any looters or zombies.

Now it's your turn.

this is true. but depending on how long it takes them to turn, they can still be useful. if they dont feel like killing them self, let them stay in the group. but, make them go first and keep an eye on them. the moment they become a burden kill them, but not before they use up there usefulness..
No heroics!
Amen!
Never split up into a group of less than 3. Three people can watch each others backs and replace one if someone gets bitten.

Case a resting place based on windows. If there is glass that can't be easily barricaded, don't go there.

Never go upstairs alone. If there's one up there, they'll have the advantage of seeing you before you see them. Also check ever room with a weapon in hand.

Look up. If you heard something coming from a room, stick to a solid wall and look in every direction before proceeding, the roof included. Zombies or may not be able to climb walls, but not considering potential threats is a quick way to get killed.

Do not make overly complex traps unless you know exactly what you're doing. If you get rushed by a horde of the undead, make sure you won't die from tripping your own traps.

Have short range weapons on hand. Guns are nice, but they jam, run out of bullets, and if you're surprised by something popping out they're useless. Carry a knife or a sword at all times just in case.

Never get too emotionally attached to anyone in your group, they're one bite away from trying to kill you. (Some might not even need the bite)
China. I'm sorry but if your looking for somewhere safe to hide, dont go to the most populated country per metre in the world.
Or any nation with high population density with that matter, Lol.

Here's one:

Don't go out expecting that every live person you meet will necessarily be a good person. You will never know what happens, especially since, during an outbreak, society will have most likely descended into anarchy.
Excellent, Darlo!
places like wal*mart! everyone will be there trying to buy (or steal) all the food and supplies they can. overcrowding and rioting will be a very big problem..
me i would not do anything..just stay inside and not go out unless it is necessary....don't be heroic..that's how everyone dies...if you must be heroic make sure its someone useful to you..not just the girl next door or whatnot....patience has a funny way of opening doors you cant open............
dont ever think you are safe.
Feel pain.Remember! Pain is a warning. If you know your injured theres nothing you can do about it. Just grit your teeth n' tough it out. You'll be in less pain eventually. Unless you have something that will stop you i.e a broken back...keep going.

Don't fuck the hot cheerleader just because shes brain dead and can't fight you off.
