traviling lightly

when the zombies break down your barricade you may find your self trying to save everything.dont. save only the esentials and travel light. what you should bring is...

A. a weapon of course

B. plenty of ammo

C. dry food (cooking is too long and useless with out time and equipment)

D. a compass to find your way back to civilization (if there is any)

E. some thing to ocupy yourself on long trips.

F.a bike is strongly reccomended faaster then walking

 

If you have a car then bring every thing you can get the more stuff the better

I believe in overkill though I love to travel light the stuff I'd carry is
1) Marlin 22. LR
2) 50,000 rounds of ammunition for 22.
3) extra pair of shoes
4) socks
5) vienna sausages, peaches, carrots *all canned goods of course*
6) A good book
7) hand radio
8)extra batteries
9) gunpowder
10) a camel pak

that's what I'd carry and a shit load more if I had a bike and even more if a car

Why not make sure to carry a melee weapon as well... and maybe freeze dried foods, instead of canned food.... That would be traveling a little more lightly. I do realize a lot of people are against the whole melee weapon idea, but it's better than being eaten when you run out of bullets.

Gun powder isn't hard to make. Plenty of resources in nature and scavenging to do so.

Traveling light for me would be horseback. I can pack up to 300 lbs of equipment on a pack horse..

I also have horses on my property. Horses in Zpoc would be soooooo hard to control. Leave it to the pros (which I am not unlike others in my family).

I train my own and they are trained to deal with groups of people, machinery and fast movements. My horses won't be in a city if I can help it. They are for transportation when the gas dries up or gels not for zed hunting. They will be an asset when the highways are clogged if I need to move out. I live 40 miles from the nearest city. As I've said in many other threads, my horses are part of my disaster plan no matter what it is.
