It's stick with a truck or a motorcycle as long as gas was available. After that, I'd try to find a horse.
I've got my Pick up, car and 7 horses.
LOL, I guarantee someone will say, "Well I read in the ZOMBIE SURVIVAL GUIDE THAT A BICYCLE IS THE BEST MODE OF TRANSPORTATION." Let's get it done and over with. Take one of those big stinky permanent markers and write a BIG "B" on your forehead so we know how you died. I'd rather be on foot. At least you are more maneuverable at the outset.
Lol like your statement there PP XD
i see where you're coming from but if a bike was available, it'll get you from a-b faster and with less energy consumption than your feet will... with no noise to draw attention to you no need to stop for gas and a basic puncture kit is small so you could have a few on you without taking up to much space.

Start up hill from a dead stop compared to someone on foot with a shit load of zeds closing in.

OBVIOUSLY..LMAO....  But then if you had a moutain bike you'd be ok.. lol...  Besides the point is that you'd have to make the decision in that moment...  If there were a bike available and you were on flat ground it would make sense to use it... if like in your example you were at the bottom of a hill then leave the sodding bike lol and run...Logic and common sense are the greatest weapon one can have during the ZPOC...

Are we cross? Are you that butt burnt because I disagree? Are you Max Brooks?

I have as much experience with a Zombie Apocalypse as you do. I have a lot of experience dealing with very very bad situations.

Don't be Butt Burnt.

Bubba Im not trying to get into a fight with you by any means, and I apologize for hoping into a argument that did not start with me. My point is this, anyone can write a survival guide if you have the resources to look up information, which everyone has these days with the internet. Brooks, took some valid survival information, mixed it with ideas and iconic scenes from zombies movies and came up with a loosely rational survival guide. Because he was one of the first to start bringing zombies to the head of pop culture he is looked upon by man as a expert on zombies. Heres a news flash for anyone on this forum...ZOMBIES ARE NOT REAL. They have never been real, and the likely hood of them ever occuring is rare. I have seen all the research on the possibilities of a mutation of the rabies virus, and others. The theories are very intriguing, but as of now they are just theories.  If you want a good idea of how a zombie may act, talk to a doctor who will humor you and talk about it. I was a combat medic in the army for 8 yrs, and Ive been a civilian medic for 2. One thing I know for sure about any type of living creature is that once it dies all organs shut down. Without blood moving through the system to contract, and expand muscles the body wont move. So if zombies truely are dead as they have been made out to be in books, and movies for years chances are you wouldnt be able to tell if they were zombies, or just another dead body. So with that being said a adaptation of a virus is a way better canidate for turing people to zombies. Essentially they would still be living humans, just effected by a virus that made them act in the manner we've become accoustumed to calling zombies. If this were true you would also be able to kill them with center mass shots. With no heart to pump blood, there would be no movement. Head shots would be fast because it would stop sending signals to the rest of the body to function, but any injury that ulitmately led to complete exsanguination would also stop zombies.

James, lets not throw facts into the soup. People get confused.

I'd assume zeds from the virus theory would be as fast and adept as before they were infected. They'd likely need rest and protection against the elements in order to stick around for very long. I doubt they'd be of any mental state to realize that though. Like "The Crazies" or 28 Days infected.

Thats the theory Ive had for awhile about zombies, if their exsistance ever came about. All this just makes the desire for a fortified compound, and transportation in a vehicle that much more desirable.

Dont get me wrong, I would much rather them be dead. The zombies in most zombie movies are slow walking, physically weak creatures. Much easier to evade, or kill if it comes down to it.

I beleive the virus theory would be more likey then reanimation. Things would be so much more difficult. I believe I'd have to commandeer an abandoned armored truck or dump truck if I was buggin out to get home.
