Yea thats my thinking exactly. There is a guy down the street from me who has a decommishioned humvee. Its a hardtop with ballistic plexy for windows. I think that might my best, and closest bet. Anything that gave you armour would be good though. I have my wrangler I talked about earlier in this thread that I just finished getting bug out ready. The only problem with it is the windows. Although, I could always pull them out and replace them with plexy.
Sticking with your feet is always a good reliable means of transportation. If it were me, I would try to keep motorized wheels under my ass as long as possible.
I've crossed creeks and had my horses neck deep in a lake. They keep chuggin along. There's only a few specialized vehicles able to do that. I've beat the hell out of my old Cannondale F400 but haven't had it that deep in a lake before. Nothing is perfect.
Good call Prime!  Me, I'm stickin to my H3 for as long as possible.
LOL, Thumbs up to the Libyan Hummer.
Man that is awesome... It;s my dads and I dream vehicle... we always fantasize about something like that when we're stuck in traffic...  "Don't you wish you had a turret gun about now dad?" eases the tension lol
I want it <(•-•<)

God I love that truck. Fucking America with it's non-Hilux environs.
I'm sticking with my Jeep Wrangler. Very good if I need to hop a curb to get away from the zeds.

What year is your Wrangler. I have a 92 Ive been building up as my bugout vehicle. I have a 4 inch rough country suspension lift on 35x10.5 General Grabbers. I build a 4.0 stroker with a stroker crank kit from quadratec, ox front lockers, detroit on the back to beef up my dana 44's. I put in a new heavier transfer case, beefer clutch plates in the AX 15 5 speed, and smittybilt armour all the way around. Switched all the lights to LED, 12,000lbs WARN powerplant mounted on the front, and Smittybilt MOLLE pack seat covers. The only thing I would do to it if I had to bugout is through on my hard top first. That only takes me about 5 minutes in my garage.
